This is great for spinning stops/gyms when out and about and I don’t want to stare at a screen. I don’t use it for catching because there’s no way to configure it to use higher powered balls. Basically, it chews through all of my regular balls with little to show for it. But it seems to work as intended.
UPDATE: It’s still working perfectly, but I also picked up the USB charger by the same company. It’s perfect! The catcher slides right in and makes it easier to charge any time. If needed, you can even plug it right into your phone’s USB-C port! I go weeks between charges, though, so rarely an issue.

I did like it but it broke without even dropping it, disappointed 😞 sometimes it doesn’t catch anything at the begging but then after connecting again it works great. I’m not sure if there’s better range with other brands but while driving doesn’t work the best. Overall is good for the price but the quality needs to improve so it doesn’t break before the month.

Here’s the simple summary of this device for the few weeks I’ve been using it: it’s a good investment for the price ($40) and you’re not missing out on anything substantial by not going with a Gotcha instead.
The only negative I can give for this device is that it doesn’t have the great vibration feedback system that a Gotcha Evolve has to let you know it’s connected, working and doing it’s job. In that case, just check your game screen to see if it’s auto-catching and auto-spinning and that’s it. It saves you roughly $11 to not have the vibration feedback like the Gotcha has.
Not having an LCD screen either for inform you of clear battery levels is also another negative, but to save money and circumvent this, just charge it every night before bed if you’re paranoid about the battery and you should be fine.
With the negatives out of the way, here’s why it’s a big improvement over the Gotcha Evolve: it has a far better bracelet design that easily allows you to have it around your wrist and removing the device from the bracelet to charge it is also pretty easy and doesn’t make you feel like you’re going to break it.
The problem with the Gotcha Evolve’s bracelet is that in order to charge the battery on it, you have to forcibly rip the bracelet apart just to utilize the internal USB device to charge it. This can lead to possibly breaking the device, which leads me to NEVER utilizing it as a bracelet. Instead I use the hold in the rubber bracelet to attach it to my bag or just put it in a pocket, defeating the purpose of it being designed as a bracelet. It’s really bad design and they should go with the charge design the Brook Pocket Auto Catchers have.
I’ve tested it out for Community Day, Adventure Incense, Spotlight Hour, Raid Hour and normal day-to-day routines both on foot and in the car. It has the same problems all the other auto-catchers have which is it’ll sometimes randomly disconnect or slouch on automating if you’re manually doing things in-game, but I would say 98% of the time it’s doing it’s job and making your life easier.
If you already have a Gotcha, never used an auto-catcher before, or have been using those awful officially licensed catchers that make you do everything manually (unless you mod them to become auto-catchers), then I recommend going with this $40 Lightning version of the Brook Pocket Auto Catch devices.
It’s the cheapest and overall best reliable auto-catcher I’ve used so far and I’ve thus far used both official catching devices, the Gotcha Evolve and now this one. It also doesn’t make you buy disposable batteries to charge the device, unlike those multi-account catching devices you’ve also seen on here, which is a turn-off for me personally.
Hopefully this review helped you make a better decision.

fickle with charging, then broke

I actually ended up ordering three of these as the price was right. In my first order, one of the two didn’t function at all (wouldn’t power on even when plugged in to charge) so I returned one for a replacement. The replacement worked immediately. So if the two working ones, they powered on right away, set up was simple, and right away we were able to start catching and spinning! This was my first experience with autocatchers and I don’t think I could go without. They work great for driving through town when I wouldn’t be able to play otherwise, or for discreeting playing at other times. Sometimes I’ll go for a walk and set it up so I don’t have to actively play the game. It has caught me a few shinies I would have otherwise missed, and keeps me stocked up on items. I found it great for community days as well so I can play the whole time but not have to be glued to my phone. Great product and super price when I got them!

It’s a cute little gadget. A significant amount of force is used to insert the device into the charger. I was surprised it didn’t connect by magnet.
It connects to my pixel 6 fine and to pokemon go fine.

Bought this to replace my original gotcha. This one was cheaper.. But it works great, no connection / disconnection issues so far. In fact, I think the battery lasts longer than my original gotcha. I think it’s also better made than the original too as the screen doesn’t appear to get as scratched up as the gotcha. I just wish that it didn’t time out after an hour but I think that’s more because of the game than the watch itself. I liked it so much I actually bought another for my youngest son who also plays.

It’s on me for not doing more research, so I’m not even mad, but figured I’d just warn others that if your phone is a more recent model (2021-onward) that it will likely not work with this device. The only phone I was able to have connect was an LG phone from ~2018. Save yourself some wasted money and just buy the real deal

My gf has the official version and she says mine in better. Being able to turn off vibration is a GREAT option.
I never run out of balls now, always spinning stops and catching the occasional shiny thanks to the device. I couldn’t be happier!
Band seems flimsy but who cares, it’s so tiny and you can get a keychain attachment if you don’t like watch style

It works very well and it works from a great distance
