I searched around on Amazon for a pedometer that was affordable and seemed effective in helping me count calories and miles and steps. After searching through many out there I finally chose to purchast this one and I love it. I clip it easily onto a belt buckle on jeans or just the top of sweats or shorts and it is accurate to my knowledge and keeps me wanting to add more steps into the day! Great product.

I wanted a real pedometer that would hopefully be more accurate than the step counter on my watch, but this isn’t it. Maybe none of these would be. When taking a formal ‘walk’ it did mostly OK, counting about the same number of steps as my watch did. Where it got carried away was just wandering around the house/yard during the course of a day. It regularly reports 30-40% more steps than any of a number of different fitness tracking watches I’ve had would report. I wanted a pedometer to count steps when I was pushing a shopping cart, using a treadmill while holding on, and NOT counting every time my wrist bounced. A STEP counter, not a WRIST counter.
The app was OK until it wasn’t. The last few times I tried to sync the device to the app the app simply crashed. I tried force stopping it and restarting it, but it didn’t make any difference. I didn’t try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. That’s too much trouble for what it provides.
Twice I had the counter reset on me during the course of the day. I’ve no idea why. My guess would be the button on it pressed on the arm of my desk chair and that reset it, but it isn’t supposed to have a manual reset (although I just tested it and it does. Hold the red button for a few seconds and it resets). Random resets decrease the value of the device even more. A reset button should be buried on the back of the device where it can’t be accidentally hit.
All in all this isn’t what I was hoping for.

I needed something to monitor my steps. Something that is not connected to an app. Clips on and stays on. Happy with this pedometer and find it to be a great little unit.

I got this Coolfire Pedometer because my old pedometer finally bit the dust. It’s easy to use and has large display numbers which makes it easier to see for me. I don’t need the app information, I just need the number of steps I’ve made on my way to 10,000 steps per day and this Coolfire pedometer lets me know. Of course, it has an app that tracks daily steps and other things, but I just need to know how many steps I have taken today.
If you need a pedometer that’s easy to use and easy to see, this Coolfire pedometer is a great choice.

I’ve been wearing this pedometer on the lanyard that comes with it. I tuck it inside my shirt since that seems to keep it more accurate. I can’t tell how accurate it is but I’m hoping it’s close. I did take it off and just swing it around and it didn’t count steps so that is good.
It did reset one day in the middle of the day and I’m not sure what my step count was at that point and I also don’t know why it reset. I may have somehow pushed the button on the back even though this is worn inside my shirt.
It was easy to set. I don’t use the app as I feel it is not necessary for me but it is an option. The display is nice sized and easy to read. It also comes with an extra battery which is helpful.

I like pedometers. I’m old school. I don’t want a smart watch. My old reliable went missing so I figured I’d try this “smarter” pedometer. Well, I wish for my old one. This is okay but the accuracy of the step counting is questionable. I also hate the app. In theory, it will pair with your phone and log your data, but it’s a low quality, janky app that often crashes. I’ll use it to give me a ballpark of my steps but I wouldn’t tell another person that this is the best choice.

I took this on a long walk, and it read approx 55% of the steps that my other devices did. This was forgivable, since it could mean that it defined “step” in an odd way as right+left instead of one stride (and +/- 10% variation in actual steps is normal). However, it also displays miles, and this also was 55% of the actual mileage. So, it’s either miscalibrated or just doesn’t work. A button cycles between time, steps, miles, and calories. However, it reverts to time after a few seconds. This is annoying, because I’d like it just to stay on whatever I last viewed. My other devices have no such problem. One last issue is that they REALLY want you to download their app. You don’t have to, and I’d strongly recommend against it (or any other dubious 3rd party app). The problem is that the device doesn’t take the hint and there is no way to tell it to stop trying to pair with a phone. This constant searching will drastically reduce the battery life. Since it’s not rechargeable, that means frequent costly replacements of the coin batteries it takes. Basically, I can’t recommend this device given my experience with it so far.

*UPDATE* After less than a week, this is no longer working properly. I noticed yesterday that my steps stopped counting around midway through the day, and there was a significant lag when trying to switch between settings. As of today (still morning), it has only registered 6 steps, when it should have been at least well over 2000. It is still syncing to the app, but not registering anything on the device whatsoever, so syncing nothing really isn’t beneficial. Pretty disappointed since it started out so promising.
So far, no complaints. Works well and has an app that it can sync to. It is a little big, but personal preference is the only reason I wish it were a bit smaller. Its size though doesn’t affect its functionality or ability to stay clipped in place, so it’s really no issue.
