Samantha Richards –
This cycle is good for someone that is just starting and not very fit or elderly. It doesn’t plug in, so it is self propelled with a tension adjustment. It is fairly easy to put together and to move around.
Tried&Tested –
This is an excellent machine for the elderly or people doing physical therapy. It arrived very well packed and was around 70lbs so make sure you have someone to help you if you are on your own. It is heavy.
It comes with an instruction book and there are some videos in the listing. We went back and forth between the two as some of the instructions weren’t really clear, like even which was the front and which was the back stabilizer bar. The front has the wheels, but this isn’t clear in the instructions or the assembly video.
We also had issues connecting the front support tube to the main frame. The instruction booklet and video (on a mobile phone) didn’t show this process very well, just ‘connect the wires’. There was one loose wire not connected to anything which had to be fed through the support tube (this wasn’t clear at all). The metal tensioner was also a problem. Turn the dial to 1 so it releases the cable as far as it can and you might have to pull the cable connector further out from the main unit so the metal stopper can fit in the holder. This was confusing for us as we were trying to watch the video on Mobile and it was very small. It is much easier to follow larger instructions and videos, that is for sure. But if you look at these ahead of time you will probably be much quicker than us. I don’t advise this as a 1 person assembly at all.
The foot pedal straps are very hard to click over the foot pedal clips. You will need some strong thumbs and not long fingernails.. (like mine…lol).
Once we got it all together it was awesome. It is super quiet which is great as it doesn’t disturb others in the household. The seat is soft and comfy and the seat position slide is smooth and easily changed to suit a person’s height. There is somewhere to put your tablet or a book on top of the display screen.
This bike was for an elderly person undergoing therapy as you can see by the photos with walkers and such. She absolutely loves it and it is easy for her to use comfortably while reading a book or using a tablet.
Absolutely 5 stars, even with the assembly issues.

I ordered the ‘Cursor Fitness’ recumbent exercise bike because it seemed to be both aimed at seniors and for physical therapy, it “effectively reduces back pressure and joint strain”. I am in my early 60’s and suffer from back pain so the ergonomic design of this bike really appealed to me. I need to keep physically active inside during the coming winter months and our older exercise bike is no longer suitable for me.
Assembly of the bike took me just under 2 hours from the time I laid everything out on the floor, to the time it was fully completed. The instructions are mostly easy to follow and there is an assembly video on the Amazon listing page that should really help you out. I got a bit frustrated when I was trying to connect the tension cable (pictured) but after lowering the tension using the adjustment knob (also pictured) it was much easier to connect. Note: There are several sensor wires that run through the frame of the bike to the Lcd display that will have to be connected during assembly.
I am 5’9″ and I found I could adjust the seat and backrest to get quite comfortable. My wife is around 5 feet tall with shorter legs so she might need a pillow or some other support for her back to exercise comfortably at the shortest seat setting.
The bike is quite heavy but it has 2 wheels built into the front stabilizer bar to help move it around. I had to raise the backend of the bike fairly high for the wheels to touch the floor but I was able to manage ok by myself. However, I will be putting it in the basement and it will definitely be a 2 man lift to get it down the stairs. It should be noted that the bike is about 4 feet long when assembled so it does take up quite a bit of floor space.
The bike’s display automatically turns on when you start to exercise and will turn off by itself after 30 seconds of inactivity. The small LCD display is easy to see and you can switch modes to measure time, speed, distance, odometer, calories and heart rate. The sensor for your heart rate is in the handles by your seat.
There is also a ledge above the display to rest your smartphone and tablet while you exercise.
Overall, I really like the comfort that the recumbent design of the bike provides for my back while exercising. Once it is assembled, the bike’s construction feels quite solid and the overall quality is very good.
At the time of this review there is a $200 off coupon bringing the price down to $249 and I can highly recommend it at this price point.

Wow this things works great and was not super hard to put together I love how easy the pedals are and love the comfort of the seat
Tried&Tested –
Make sure you have a decent set of tools on hand. Yes, they give you the allen keys and wrench, but having a good set of tools or someone to help with assembly is a plus. The bike itself, once put together is easy to use and has a lot of versatility as far as resistance and seat placement. No, it does not come with a big giant screen as the picture might have to believe, but it give you someplace to rest your tablet. There are no moving parts for your arms like other designs, so this just works out your legs. Having replacement knees and surgical repairs to other joints, this is giving me the workout I need but without stressing me too much. For what you get and what it does, it’s an excellent value.

So happy with this bike. Well made and very quiet. Tooke a while to assemble but the instructions were easy to follow.

I’ve been using the cursor Fitness recumbent exercise bike for about 4 weeks now and I’m fairly impressed with it. It has 16 levels of resistance and it allows smooth transitions between the various levels. It has a very robust and stable feeling not wobbling during exercise. The seat is quite comfortable and the Machine is quiet as well. The only downsides was that the initial setup was a bit challenging given the weight of everything and the instructions could have been a bit clearer.

It’s difficult to find an exercise bike for petite people so if that’s you, your search may be over. This bike is takes up a lot of real estate, but it adjusts easily to shorter statures.
The assembly was simple in that the video instructions on the Amazon page made more sense than the instructions included in the box. However, this is a heavy, long, tallish bike, so it’s not easy to assemble solo.
The tension control knob is reachable while seated for a petite person, but I think it would be more difficult for taller people.
Adjusting the seat is convenient. There’s a lever underneath the seat that’s accessible from the front.
I find it difficult to move around, probably because of my height, but it takes up a lot of space. I decided to roll it to a permanent spot.
Note that it’s a manual bike (as these should be). The recumbent design makes it easy on knees and hips.
I like it a lot and think that the price is reasonable for the quality, functions, and design of this bike.

I got this CURSOR FITNESS recumbent exercise bike for my senior-aged dad, and it has been a fantastic addition to his daily routine. As a senior, comfort and ease of use are essential for him, and this bike delivers on both fronts.
Comfort and Design:
The seat is large, well-padded, and provides great back support, which is crucial for seniors who may struggle with balance or joint pain. My dad finds the seating position comfortable for long rides without putting strain on his back or knees. The step-through design makes it easy for him to get on and off the bike without needing to lift his legs high.
Resistance Levels:
The 16 levels of magnetic resistance allow him to tailor his workout to his energy levels. He mostly uses the lower to mid-range settings for a light cardio workout, but it’s nice knowing that there are higher resistance options for more challenging sessions when he feels up to it. The smooth and quiet operation ensures he can use it anytime without disturbing anyone in the house.
Easy to Use:
The control panel is straightforward, with a clear display that tracks his speed, distance, time, and calories burned. It’s simple enough that he can operate it without any assistance, which is a big plus for maintaining his independence.
Low-Impact and Safe:
One of the best things about this bike is that it provides a low-impact workout, perfect for seniors like my dad who need to protect their joints. He feels safe and secure during his workouts, and the stability of the bike gives him confidence.
Room for Improvement:
If there’s one area where the bike could improve, it would be the weight of this exercise bike. While it’s very practical, the weight of it makes a challenge for seniors to move without others’ assistance.
Overall, the CURSOR FITNESS recumbent bike has been a great choice for my dad. It’s senior-friendly, easy to use, and provides him with a comfortable, low-impact way to stay active.

Recumbent Exercise Bike Vine Review. Brand: CURSOR FITNESS. My 2004 CardioEdge 6.0 recumbent bike might be on its last miles. Amazing to be able to get this for Vine review at this time. And such a beauty!
I have been using a similar recumbent exercise bike for about 20 years. It used a belt, which I had to replace, and was very noisy. This is so quiet! And has no belt! On both you can set it for “Auto Scan”, meaning as you are peddling, it will show all your stats, each one for a few seconds before moving on to the next automatically. (Run time, Speed, Distance, Calories, Odometer, Pulse) The MODE button can change to focus on one of these or Scan. Then press SET to confirm your choice. The RESET will clear your odometer. (Perhaps once a week? 🙂
The dial can adjust the difficulty of the peddling, 16 levels of magnetic resistance. But 1-9 are very lightweight IMHO.
For those of you new to heart monitoring, you must have both hands on both ends of the handlebars by your side to get a reading. But all other readings will continue when you let go, and “pulse” will resume shortly after you put your hands back on.
Pros: THIS IS SO QUIET! Amazingly quiet. And it is so easy to move, by rolling it away! The 47 second video shows how easy. Box 68 pounds. Bike 61 pounds.
Cons This is very similar in function, but this does not have programs to choose from, let alone customize, like my existing bike. But that is built in, at this low price. In Step 7, as described below, I had a problem with the seat adjustment. Also known as the brake handle. I resolved it adequately for me, but it took some time.
Rating: The minor lacks in the installation directions are nothing compared to a lot out there. But because of the brake issue and possible reliance on tube wall in step 5, this ends up about 3.8 Star review, including for price range.
EDITED – Changed to 3.8 Stars. After a month of use.
With use it could easily move to a 4 soon, with use. Especially good if you are following a tablet or tv screen to give you a timed workout, this can be a great bike. But if you feel the need for a built in directed program, that will adjust for varying terrain and or specific cardio runs, even customizable, you can easily spend a lot more, 2-4 times more. It is reassuring that Cursor Fitness has two other fitness products here that have great reviews and that the 5 year warranty has more validity because of that.
Thoughts on assembly:
HELP! You will need some real strength putting the straps on the pedals. Plan ahead. You can easily take them to work / friend and ask them to do that for you. So it could be a good idea to try that yourself, early on.
If you are like me and do not want to destroy the box, it will probably be best to turn on a side and slide out of the box rather than “Jinga” the curved pieces out of the box. And this IS a quality box! Either way, be ready for styrofoam “tumbleballs” blowing across your floor.
Assembly:
General note. The official assembly video (3:05) is very good, but not perfect. (Same with the paper manual). This video goes very fast, so you might watch it all the way through first. Then restart and pause as you go. Note that when the video shows chrome bolts, you will be using black bolts, from the cleverly sorted and numbered blister sheet. A nice and welcome touch is that many black screws and bolts are preinstalled, so in assembly, you unscrew them, combine pieces, then screw them right back in place. NICE! The pieces may look complicated, but it went pretty easy, except for the straps and the seat adjustment brake.
WARNING: There are curved washers, it takes some time to make sure these stay “on the curve” as you tighten the nut. Else you could strip threads trying to bend the washer flat. (Really for Step 5.) The nuts are 1/2” or 13mm with wiggle in case you prefer a socket over the provided tool, and a socket might keep the black paint looking a teensy bit better.
Piece by piece.
Step 1. The video shows chrome bolts for the front stabilizer. You may find those installed when unpacking. But you remove those and use the black bolts with curved washers on top left of the blister pack, labeled Step 1. # 12, 21 & 22. Note that on this bar, it is the short one, with a this side ^ UP ^ sticker. Next, the paper guide doesn’t mention putting the straps on the pedals, but the video does. These straps are actually the hardest thing to do, requiring strength. It might be easier if they are warm. But if you find you don’t have the strength, the pedals and straps can be taken to your strong assistant and the pedals can be put on later. (Or first if you are reading ahead!) While you can take pride in finishing the rest of the assembly yourself! The pedals absolutely don’t have to be installed for you to continue!
Step 2. The video shows chrome bolts, and this time not preinstalled. Use the same black #12, 21 & 22 in the upper right of the blister pack. This time the bar is NOT marked with an ^ UP ^ sticker, so there are two sides that could be up! One way gets the bar farther off the ground than the other, which I did. Probably preferred but I missed any specific instructions on …. which way is up. (Smirk)
This step was a snap while sitting, with the bar across my thighs, and the module between my knees. To connect to the Main Frame 29, remove the rubber bands and connect the sensor and the slack goes easier into the peddle side. When assembling the trim covers, the spatially challenged may find it easier to first hold just the two together, to see how they will fit on the frame. (Wink)
Step 3. Bolts and washers are preinstalled to put on both cushions. (Yay)
Step 4. The paper diagram does not have a line from “43” to the cover plate, held by two bolts “42”. (Boo)
Step 5. Warning! When removing the rubber bands ONLY remove the round end band and get it connected, else the two wires can slip out of the tube! As reviewer Keith suggests, turn the dial to low – 1-4. Connecting the steel cable end may require inserting the bulb end at a much greater angle than shown in the 4 images on page 11. Pulling up to seat the cable requires just a touch of strength. After connecting the wires, there are 4 bolts and 4 curved washers at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock around the tube. Installing those 4 bolts, it seemed the metal treads in the tube stripped on one bolt so be more careful on those curved washers and do not over tighten. I do not think there is a nut inside the tube, so you may be relying on threads in the tube wall. I’m not going to take it apart to look!!!
Step 6. I pushed the lining back out of the way so the small cover snapped on better. The video shows putting the batteries in before installing the module, but might as well wait until finished.
Step 7. The brake lever is for your seat!!! With the one I received, something is not right. I had to remove the spring and rotate the pivot arm “bolt holes” on top forward just enough to get the brake bar installed in front of the handlebar. Before reattaching the spring, move that brake handle forward just a little, back and forth. Exercise it. It doesn’t take much, back and forth 1-3 inches. This may be a paint thickness issue. Then attach the spring. This would be why that user video I saw today shows so much wild wobble while peddling, the brake is not locked!! With the spring attached, stand behind the bike and with the handle forward you can easily slide the seat forward and back. Your ability to slide the seat forward and back while seated is questionable and perhaps related to your weight.

Love this exercise bike, great addition to our home gym! Instructions were easy to follow and set up was quick. The whole family loves using this machine. The screen shows simple data, not videos. If you want to follow a program I suggest an external device.
