I’ve always been a fan of multicolored, heat-treated(?) stainless steel products I’ve seen online, so I was excited to find it as an option for a metal mesh Charge 6 band. At $9.99 (plus promo coupon), this honestly seems like quite a bargain! The rainbow color is perhaps a bit flamboyant, but the mesh actually gives it a somewhat iridescent look if that’s what you’re going for.
It’s my first time trying out a metal band for a fitness tracker, and the first thing I noticed was the slight increase in weight. It’s around 42.5grams if anyone wanted to know! Breathability seems better than Fitbit’s official infinity bands though maybe not quite as much as a silicone sport band with tons of holes. I wasn’t expecting the comfort: because it lies almost completely flat, I can rest my wrist on a desk using a mouse without any buckles digging into my skin.
Construction-wise, the whole thing is metal, including the internal connector tabs. The metal ends while connected have a very slight give if you try wiggling them, but they don’t rattle noisily or anything, so it’s just a minor observation. After opening the package, I had a minor row of kinks on one side of the band that I was able to massage out. If you’re OCD, please note that the bottom loop sticks out somewhat–you can’t “crease” the metal mesh to be completely flat if that bothers you. The magnet also seems as strong as it needs to be.
I’ve seen complaints of threads or other things getting pulled by mesh-style bands, but I haven’t noticed any snagging or pinching with shirts, bed sheets, or arm hair so far. I suppose it might be possible, and I’ll update the review if anything unfortunate happens.
I can’t foresee many other issues: metal tabs are less likely to break and launch your Fitbit than plastic ones, and if the magnet gets knocked loose it will probably stick to the band immediately again. You can’t completely pull the magnet out from its loop, either, so you’ll be able to catch your Fitbit sliding down your hand in the unlikely event things progressed that far. I’d be more concerned about rust or the coating getting scratched. Or scratching the Fitbit with the band somehow. Or getting zapped if you’re being careless while attaching the magnetic charger!

For a band that says it’s build specifically for the Charge 6, it just doesn’t fit the tracker well.
The band coloring is nice and consistent, and once installed, it does stay on the wrist well. Like most steel mesh bands, this works as expected.
There are two significant problems:
1) The band does not solidly clip to the tracker. While it does stay securely attached, it is quite loose. See the included video for an indication of how loose it is.
2) On one end of the tracker, the mesh band runs through the connector, making a large, awkward loop. It just looks weird. See included photos.
I really like the look of the band, I just wish it didn’t fit the tracker so terribly.
