The Good
First off, this is built very well. It’s deceptively heavy and all of the parts that seem like they’d need to be metal are actually metal. The bearings on this are extremely smooth as well.
The Bad
I’m not a giant by any means (5″ 10″), but the diameter of the wheel is so small that you are essentially taking baby steps or shimmying. It’s an unnaturally small “step” and it feels like you need to focus more on getting it just right as opposed to zoning out and being otherwise productive, which is the allure of a product like this.
The Ugly
You need to be situated (height, lean angle, and distance) PERFECTLY for this to function at all. It’s impossible to get this to work using remotely good posture while I am attempting to work at my desk. It’s possible that it could be limitations of my chair or desk height, but this WILL be a problem for many people. Period. If you can’t get in a perfect groove with this, the wheels bang on the platform with every step you make, so it can get extremely annoying very quickly.
I am going to give this a more fair shake long term and revisit this review if needed, but these seem like issues that are unavoidable depending on the user and their setup. I am certain that it will be great for people of a certain height with a luckily-perfect chair and or desk, but I do not appear to be one of those people.

This under-desk elliptical is different from many I have seen. Most of them are designed for the elderly and have a motor that automatically turns the pedals. This one only works manually or by pushing the pedals yourself. It has 8 resistance levels, which can be challenging for me, even though I’m in my 40s. I’m really happy about that, as I wanted an under-desk exerciser that would actually provide some exercise. It feels more like a strengthening exercise rather than cardio.
The machine itself is heavy, so it’s not something you’ll want to move often. It fits under my desk just fine, and it is whisper quiet.
I’m not a fan of the app. It’s difficult to use and seems to have a significant delay. The app shown in the manual is different from the one now available for download. There is no remote for it; it has a resistance dial on the unit itself.
Overall, it’s what I was looking for in an under desk elliptical.

This Modvel Underdesk Elliptical Machine for Home Workout is whisper quiet and super smooth when used. Its compact, well-designed, and well-constructed. Although it is heavy to move, the integrated handle makes the weight more manageable, however it could be a bit better centered.
I’ve used it a few times sinve I received it and this elliptical has really made me feel the sting of muscles being newly exercised, even with only a few 5-minute sessions here and there.
The only thing that’s weird is that about half a page inthe manual is devoted to how to operate the elliptical and 4 pages of the are devoted to the app. That certainlt tells you something.
Anyway, I’m sure with regular use this elliptical with become an ever more important part of my exercise routine.

This seated under-desk elliptical machine by MODVEL is great!
It shipped quickly, arrived fully assembled and matched the product description photo precisely. In addition, it came with a non-slip rug to place underneath the machine, so that you’re able to get a good grip. Although it’s a little tricky with a rolling chair, it took no time at all to get the hang of it. MODVEL really knocked the ball out of the park with this one! In my opinion, it’s a great deal for $290 (the price at the time of this review) and I would highly recommend it.

This Modvel under desk elliptical is a lot heavier than I expected so I had a hard time getting it under my desk. Because of how heavy it is (and how much space it takes up under my desk), I won’t be able to use it under my desk. Instead, I’ll have to set it off to the side of my desk, and just move my desk chair over to it when I want to use it which is a bit of an inconvenience but it is what it is.
There’s a bit of assembly on this – putting the pedals on, but it was quick and easy. You can use the pedals with the adjustable straps or take them off. I just left them on but don’t use them.
I like that it came with a little mat to set the elliptical on.
You can adjust the resistance of the pedals.
You can download an app to use with it – I am not using the app.
When using it, it’s quiet but from time to time mine makes a little clicking noise or something (it doesn’t do it very often though).
I think the price is a little on the high side, compared to others out there.
Overall, I’m pleased with this Modvel under desk elliptical.

I put this together fairly quickly. It’s interesting that you just charge it and not leave it plugged in…
I went to the MODVEL App, as you are supposed to create and account to track your workout, and the app downloaded fine but when I clicked, ‘sign up with email’ to create an account, every time I would click to put my cursor in the box to type, my keyboard would pop up and immediately pop back down again. I couldn’t use the keyboard within the app. I uninstalled and reinstalled and same thing happened. Every other app I have on my phone works but this one. Other than that, the elliptical is mildly clunky but not bad, I think I have to adjust more…

I used this in a office and no one noticed anything since its so quiet. Its works great and stays in place when using. Its easy to move away and does not take up much space.
