Product Description posted on Amazon: “moofit [brand] HW401 Heart Rate Monitor Armband, IP67 Waterproof, Support Bluetooth/ANT+, Rechargeable Optical Heart Rate Sensor Bracelet Works with Wahoo, Strava, Elite HRV”
This Heart Rate Monitor armband works great with the Chinese app “Heartool”. It’s interaction is completely seamless. The instruction booklet is useful and well-written, so connecting heart rate sensor in this nifty bracelet to the recording software in an app (and there are many compatible HRM apps to choose from) isn’t difficult at all.
In addition, I’m glad I didn’t need to download a dedicated app just to use this armband. If it had its own app I could only use this product with that app (and vice versa), and their device-specific app would take up additional storage space in my cell or a memory card, and it’s icon would also require valuable screen real estate on one of my cellphone pages. So I’m a big fan of multi-purpose apps – they save space & time – and the fact that this armband monitor is compatible with many apps, one of which you probably already have loaded on your phone (like I did with Heartool), is a BIG PLUS in my book.
At $35.99 (the price at the time this review was written) this Moofit brand HRM armband is priced low enough to make it a very affordable gift for someone you love or any friend who, for one reason or another, needs or wants to monitor their heartbeat over time. Here’s a hint: Anyone who exercises, is trying to lose weight, wants to get back in shape but needs a gentle nudge, has a heart or health issue, etc. will love this device. You just can’t go wrong with this one.
It’s really easy to use. Just charge it up (it uses very little of its charge in a 3 hour period so it probably can be worn 24 hours or more before it needs a recharge – and it recharges very quickly). Adjust the strap so this sensor bracelet fits comfortably on the wrist or arm, makes good contact with the skin, and doesn’t slide around at all while wearing it. Press the one single button on its face. Watch the little blue light rapidly flash until it finds a heartbeat (at which time it slows down & flashes once with every beat). Connect it via Bluetooth to any device on which you’ve downloaded a heartrate monitor app. Press the start recording button on the HRM app & away you go! 5 stars

I think I’d like it better if it had its own app instead of needing a 3rd party app to use it. It seems accurate as a heart rate monitor. One negative is the proprietary charging method. Instead of a USB C or even micro USB, it has a magnetic connection that requires a special cable. Lose that cable and you’re done using the device. As small as it is, maybe they couldn’t fit a standard connection method.

I tried many different monitors to pair with my heart rate app, bio.calm, and this one is hands down the best out there. The charging device is so much better than the Polar OH1 which is more than double the price. I compared the accuracy to the OH1 and it’s identical. If you use it with the bio.calm app which is free in the App Store, you can save your baseline and see how many color levels you are above or below your personal baseline. I use this for high-intensity interval workouts and my meditation practice. The crystal heartbeat display works perfectly with this heart rate monitor and the biocalm app. Highly recommend!!
