Step Counter Digital Pedometer Counting Device Compact Size Light-Weight Lovely and Practical

Bought this for my newly retired husband who was having a difficult time being motivated to get active. He has now set a step goal and this pedometer has inspired and motivated him to reach that daily goal. Easy to use, nothing fancy here, but that’s okay. Fits in his pocket or sock. He loves it and I’m glad he’s found something that motivates him to move.

I need to walk 10,000 to 14,000 steps a day. I am 76 years old and I manageto do it. I don’t always want to rely on my phone when I can just clip this little step tracker onto my sweater, shirt, or coat for a quick look to see how I’m doing, I would’ve loved to have been able to say that this particular pedometer did all of that for me, but I cannot. It never worked from day one.

The pedometer was easy to start and worked good for the first day. Day two I walked over a mile and the steps read 8. I reset it and now it won’t read anything but 0. If it is the battery, I shouldn’t have to buy a new battery for something that is one day old. Very disappointed with the product.

Great pedometer works like it’s supposed to. Big numbers
Easy to drop back to zero
The clip could be a little more griped

Since I don’t like wearing this on a lanyard I am concerned that I may lose it while walking because the clip doesn’t have a tight grip. But, the pedometer works great and meets my needs very well.

This is a nice simple pedometer with three options for use. It can be worn on a clip, on a lanyard or in your pocket. I like this basic style as it is simple, easy to use and can’t track and store my personal data. I like
that it has a feature to prevent accidental movements being counted as steps. The pedometer will start counting after 8 consecutive steps have been taken, and then add those steps on and continue counting. The step counting has seemed accurate so far. Also, wearing a pedometer has encouraged me to walk farther on days when I see that my step count is low.
It is easy to reset the pedometer. You simply long press the button on the back, the numbers flash 3 times on the screen and then it resets to 0. The screen goes to sleep after about 3 minutes and wakes up when you start your steps.
The only issue so far that I haven’t been able to figure out is that after 2 weeks the screen went blank and I thought the battery had died. I replaced it with a new battery and after about a week of use the pedometer went blank again. So to check it wasn’t a battery issue, I put the old battery back in and it is working again. So there is some sort of connection issue with my pedometer which makes it hard to give an appropriate rating at this time. I’ve used it for almost 4 weeks and hope this doesn’t happen again. Overall it has worked fine but I’m taking a star off because of this.

I’ve had many pedometers over the years. This one is simple and counts steps accurately. It can be carried in a pocket or around your neck. So easy to use I bought one for an elderly friend who is enjoying it. A great purchase for easy use for seniors with large step counter numbers.

Attached to my belt or the pocket of my pants, the long walk from my apartment to the concierge desk counts zero steps. If I stick it in a sock, it counts about half of the steps. I have ordered several of these because the grabber clip doesn’t hold as well as I would like. Long ago, I refereed youth soccer and a pedometer that I had seem to count steps very well just attached to the belt of my shorts.
Counting accurately was my expectation.

After trying so many smart watches and noticing accuracy issues with their steps counter, I decided to order this pedometer, which does just that, count steps, hoping I would finally get accurate results.
The package comes with a pedometer with clip already attached, a quick user guide and a lanyard cable. The large screen area has a protective film that can be peeled off.
To activate the device you will need to pull a tab sticking out of the battery area to make contact. To access that area, you must remove the clip. It was tricky at first, but in reality all it requires is pulling to slide out. You will need to apply force.
On the back of the unit there is the battery compartment area and a button. Once you pull the tab out completely from the battery area, the unit will turn ON, and after a period of inactivity, the display will automatically turn OFF to conserve battery. The button is used to reset the steps counter to 0. To use it, press and hold, the display will flash a few times and the counter will reset to 0, then you can release the button. This device uses a 3V Lithium coin cell battery type CR2032.
You can clip the pedometer to your clothing, or wear it on your neck using the lanyard cable, or simply put in your pocket. I did not like the clip, it was not strong enough to hold well on clothing and kept sliding off. I really did not like the lanyard cable design. The instructions are too vague on how to install it, and getting that loop inside that tiny hole is very difficult, in fact, I was unable to do it, I stopped after several attempts.
For the purpose of my test I used the pedometer inside my pocket, and other tests using clipping. I was quite disappointed with the accuracy of this device. I expected it to exceed that of my smart watch, but in fact it was just as inaccurate and in some situations, even worse. It seems to be extremely sensitive to certain movements. The instructions do mention that it has an 8 steps false start feature, so it actually counts after 8 steps, that’s fine, however, for all the tests I have done I have found the device was off by several steps. It seems to register quite a few steps more than the actual amount and when you are walking long distance, that really adds up.
This seems to be best used for longer distance of stable walking, and will give an idea (range) of steps, but unfortunately it did not provide an accurate representation. I found better results when placed inside my pocket, perhaps it is detecting swings better, but the results are still not too accurate. I believe for better accuracy, devices that are attached to the legs would provide optimal results. With tests I have done, there are situations where the steps were overestimated by only 3 to 5, and other situations where it was overestimated by more than 10. In average based on my steps and calculations, I have noticed a 40-50% deviation from the actual amount of steps. If you are testing with only a few steps, it will appear fairly accurate with only a few steps difference, but the more distance you walk, the more it adds up.
What I do like about the product is the clear, large screen LCD display.
I had hoped for better button placement. If you are wearing this using the clips, the clear button is hidden, so you have to remove the clip each time. The display is large enough and there is enough room to put a button there.
