This seat pad definitely allows me to row a lot longer than I can without one. The biggest drawback is the design. Sweat can easily get through so you can’t wipe it down. I am imagining that it will grow mold eventually from the sweat. Otherwise, it works great.

The seat that came with my Concept Two rowing machine is ok. Adding this padded seat topper really made a difference in comfort while rowing. It’s the same like adding a cushion to one of those folding metal chairs.
Easy to install and use and definitely a worth wild add on investment to the home gym.

I use my rower often, I came across this cushion and thought it was good idea, I have used it many times and its a life changer. very nice

I actually ordered this seat cushion for my partner to use on one of our bikes as he heals from hemorrhoid surgery. We had already ordered a wider seat and tried to use some memory foam but it didn’t work out. This cushion stays in place and provides the level of comfort he needs without slipping off and without the bulk.

Fits fine, straps work. Provides a little extra padding. There are lots of much thicker, less compressible pads out there that provide significantly more support. This is great if you just need a little change. I use a Concept 2 seat in an actual sliding seat row boat rather on a machine, and I find this handy as a change of pace; sometime just a few hours on a slightly different pad will help to prevent hot spot formation. This did not do well when it got wet, but it’s sold for indoor ergs not boats, so not a big fault.

The seat pad was a perfect fit for my Concept 2 rower, and is attached with stretchy straps with adjustable buckles. Cover is a nice open weave mesh with a soft feel. The fine zipper runs half-way around the pad at the base with a small zipper pull that tucks in neatly, and allows the cover to be removed for washing. The pad stayed in place during rowing and didn’t get wet or slick during half-hour sessions. The one and one-half inch foam is soft and easily compressed. While it helped me stay in place on the rower, it didn’t add much in comfort, and the front of the pad rubbed the backs of my legs on every stroke. My preference would be to have a denser foam layer and a thinner leading edge for times when you row for more than a few minutes. I’ve gone back to a piece of yoga mat until I find something better.

When I started rowing in my late teens, gravity and age hadn’t started ravaging my body yet, so I could handle the hard seat in the boat and the similarly hard seat of the erg without many issues. But I’m in my 40s now, and gravity has started pulling everything downward, and age has started taking its toll, so I’m a little more sensitive to things like that! My rear needs a little more cushioning than it used to.
I’ve owned my own Concept II Model D erg machine for the better part of 20 years, but it has seen a lot less use in recent years because it’s just not comfortable. If I wanted to sit in an uncomfortable seat for ages and suffer excruciating pain while not actually going anywhere, I’d take public transit! (That was a joke. Yay, public transit!)
A few years ago, I bought one of those blue foam adhesive seat things to try, but it was about as helpful as a canker sore. I suppose it provided a little padding, but the difference was hardly noticeable. I was even gifted a heavily padded tractor seat, which admittedly felt great, but it was like rowing with a booster seat, which was murder for my technique. THIS cushion, however, is a game-changer! It provides just enough padding to take the sting out of the seat (particularly for long steady-state rows) without making it feel like an easy chair.
One feature that I was honestly a little wary about was the fact that it attaches with two adjustable straps, because I was a little worried about slippage, I didn’t want the seat to be sliding all over the place during my row. BUT, I have to say that it stays in place surprisingly well! I’ve seen other similar seats with adjustable drawstring cords, and I won’t even consider those, because bad things happen when a shoelace or drawstring gets caught in the slide, and it’s just not worth the risk to me. And I like that this one doesn’t require some sort of adhesive to attach it to the seat, because the stickum that was on that blue foamy seat thing I bought a few years ago took ages to come off!
While I didn’t really need to adjust the straps at all, they are adjustable, which makes it easy to accommodate different seat sizes.
The fact that it’s machine washable is gravy! I haven’t put it through the machine yet, so I’ll update the review if it disintegrates or anything, but it feels pretty heavy duty, so I’m not particularly concerned.
All in all, this is a terrific little cushion! Admittedly, there are more affordable options out there, BUT I’ve tried a few of them over the years, and this one is a keeper. The superior design and comfort of the UTRYUP cushion make it well worth it in this case!

I put a lot of mileage on my Concept 2 (often 5-10k sessions, and occasionally longer rows, shooting for a million meters a year). I’ve done virtually all of my rowing without any additional padding on my seat, but I thought I’d see how this worked for me.
I definitely notice some added comfort on the initial part of my sessions, but at over 200 lbs, by the end of a 5k, most of the padding is fairly compressed. Even so, it’s still softer than the original pad, and starting out with a much softer feel means you are easing into the firmer feel at the end, instead of simply starting there. Couldn’t judge the durability yet, but I don’t anticipate any specific issues.
