This thing is physically great. It’s an awesome machine. It’s silent and sturdy and the mechanized elevation is something I find absolutely vital to any elliptical worth its salt. However the features and functions are very weak and disappointing. I only use the manual workout button since the programmed workouts only serve to avoid you having to press buttons while working out and I find the workout too conservative even at the highest settings.
The calorie counter stops at 999 then goes back to 0 instead of 1000. In 2020 having a digital counter go back to 0 after 999 is a big joke. The fan is useless; who wants a small gust of (often dusty) air blown in their face while working out? The speakers are useless; who wants cheap sound blasted in their face while working out? The Bluetooth connection is unsecured so neighbors can access it. So it’s also useless.
The e35 doesn’t connect to any smartwatch unless the smartwatch is transmitting un-encrypted data (so no Garmin, Apple, Polar, etc. – maybe some cheap basic watch could connect but who owns those). My email to tech support was never answered and I had to escalate to the US support team for the Canada group to contact me.
The sync app is trash. Look it up on Google play people literally hate it. Disconnects and crashes multiple times each workout do not install it! The heart rate monitor seems to work well but make sure it’s wet before wearing it or else no heartbeat detected. Also the heartbeat detector gets confused if you have anything tapping on it while working out (like a shirt or a headphone cable).
All in all, I am baffled why such a great machine would suffer from such poor software integration. Everything about the “added value features” is weak, badly designed or useless. The machine itself is phenomenal. I workout at 6am with my downstairs neighbor never the wiser as it is so silent. I would probably buy it again but be aware of it’s horrendous gimmicks and only get it for the machine and the workouts it can dish out. They should sell a cheaper version with none of these frustrating features.
On the physical side, I find the three adjustments the pedals offer are not flexible enough for my height (6 feet / 183 cm). I can’t really stand up on it and have to tilt forward a bit. It’s fine – I workout 60 to 90 minutes on it no problem, but its missing a bit of adjustment options for a true great fit. It also looks great.

I am extremely please with this elliptical. It provides some of the smoothest rides than all my last elliptical machines. An 18″ to 24″ which are adjustable stride that accomodates several people at home using it. I love the moving arm bars for total body training and stationary handles with heart rate sensors.
My only complain is tha I have to wait for about a month before I can use it due to shipping defects. The support was excellent as they sent in a tech to fix the problem but unfortunately he has to come back twice becuase of the wrong parts sent. It was vey inconveneience for me as I have to go out to the gym after work instead of my regular exercise at home.

I received the Sole E35 about 4 days later than expected…but Amazon apparently should not guarantee 2 day delivery with this item as it arrives by a freight carrier. Still…pretty fast shipping..about a week..and at no chargefor Prime Membership.
The machine is a monster…sturdy..solid..very well constructed. It took me 8.5 hours to assemble. Yikes. Those are the worst directions ever. Label the parts with numbers. Make the illustrations larger. Some nuts/bolts were incorrect. If Ikea can use pictures without words with great success…why not follow suit?
When pulling the computer cord through the mainframe with a long twist tie (great idea)…I moved two wires unknowingly that protruded through holes of the front frame on either side, that would later be connected to the arms for incline and resistance. They were just sticking out of the holes..I pulled them out as they were loose not connecting to anything. Later in stage 3 of the assembly, I discovered one is for the resistance arm and one is for the incline arm. Each is red and white connecting to the red and white connectors on the panel in stage 2. But the questions was: which wire that connected from the panel was for the incline arm and which was for the resistance? No numbers on the wires. I had of course made the wrong decision and had to take apart the plastic covers and reverse them. I hit the incline buttons on the arm…and the resistance increased, etc,. etc. Some machine screws were confused with metal screws but we figured that out quickly as they didn’t fit. Just bad assembly directions.
When I started the unit, there was a thumping noise. Come to find out the left pedal had a missing part. No big deal. Called customer service. They are fedexing the part and sending a tech to make sure everything is ok. Its all good so far. I have used the machine while rigging the missing part in the interim and it is quiet and I don’t see where there would be any problems. I will update after I get the tech here and the part.
UPDATE: I have used for a few months now. Suggestion: Make sure you get a good thick quality mat. Otherwise it won’t balance and will make a slight tapping noise. I bought the suggested mat per amazon…apparently not good enough. It is quiet! I can watch tv and hear everything the same as if I wasn’t on it. I personally think it is gym quality. The only gripe I have is the amount of space it takes up…but that was the choice I knowingly made. Great machine. Oh…and the stride length? Found out it changes with the incline. The higher the incline the longer the stride. FYI
BUT THE BIG QUESTION IS …..HOW DOES THE POWER STRIDE ADJUST? WHERE IS THE BUTTON FOR THAT? According to all specs…there is a power adjustable stride up to 23″. Anyone know?

To start off, I had some trepidation over having this delivered, since my wife’s stationary bike had several broken parts due to poor handling. However, as noted in other reviews, this was delivered by a separate company, not FedEx or UPS or anything like that. In short, the elliptical arrived in fine condition and the delivery service brought it into the house for me.
Do follow the markings on the box; if necessary, have the shippers help you get the box correct side up, so that you can slice around the bottom of it with a box cutter and lift the box up and off. That box makes a perfect storage container for all the packing materials inside, and if you just cut it open and tear it up, you lose that option.
I’ve had the machine for over a month now, and have used it almost every day (most times twice a day.)
PROS:
**Assembly was rather straightforward. There were a couple of issues, but if you’ve put together other bulky items, this won’t be a challenge, just time consuming. As my wife mentioned, this was the first time she can remember me putting together anything and NOT cussing a blue streak while doing so.
**Mostly quiet operation. Most of the time, there’s little to no noise when in use. Exceptions noted later.
**Solid construction. I was a bit leery, again after my wife’s bike, due to cheapness of flimsy materials. I was happy to see that there are no easily broken parts.
**Consistency of operation. I’ve been logging my workouts, and have yet to see any wild fluctuations. I only run on Manual mode, so I can’t give any advice concerning the other modes, but there is a noticeable gradiation in the resistance levels, but not too much of a jump from one step to the next.
CONS:
**About two weeks into use, the right foot platform developed a squeak. I have yet to isolate the source; I’ve loosened and re-tightened the bolts and checked everything out. It appears to be about halfway back, and is simply a flex point. A week later, the left foot platform had the same issue. The noise comes and goes, and at this point, is noticeable at the start of each exercise but goes away after about five minutes or so.
**Almost immediately, the left foot platform was noticed to be slightly wobbly. Instead of only rotating as one expects it to, it also will occasionally slip laterally. If it happens at all, it only happens once or twice during a workout, and usually in high (for me at least) RPMs (upper 70s-lower 80s), then goes back to the way it should be. It does not feel loose when I’m checking the machine out, so I’m not sure what the issue is or how to fix it.
**A single lap appears to be 1/3 mile, not 1/4 mile like I’m used to on other machines. Not necessarily a con, but something that I wasn’t expecting.
**The machine’s starting level 1 resistance is much tighter than I was expecting it to be. I’m now doing workouts ranging from 9-11 resistance level, but the first week or so I was stuck around level 3, and there didn’t appear to be very much difference between levels. I’m thinking it just had to be loosened by activity, and since then the levels have come out to a reasonable level…just don’t expect level 1 on this thing brand new to be anything as easy as level 1 on a gym’s elliptical in use by hundreds of people.
**Probably the biggest drawback for me is the lack of heart rate monitors on the moving handles. They are there and work fine on the stationary handles, but ideally I’d never touch those in a workout. They do include a remote chest monitor, with instructions on use; I haven’t used it yet and probably won’t.
Overall, I’d probably give this somewhere around an 88-90%. I specifically bought this after reading reviews on this as well as other similarly and cheaper priced ellipticals, and I would say that if you can afford the extra couple hundred bucks, go for this one if you’re searching in the $1,000 price range.

I love this machine, I am glad I didn’t go with cheaper models or brands. It is heavy, built like tank. The assembly was easy, but it does require following the assembly instructions in detail. I had some minor issues with connecting cables to the main controller unit, just short and some angles to work with. The cable connectors are very straight forward, just requires some cable management.
The biggest challenge I had is finding a floor stable enough. Regular plywood sub flooring just wasn’t firm enough and the machine would sway too much. I wish the bottom legs were few inches wider for better stability. In the end, I had to move it to my basement to be on concrete floors. No sway and no weird vibrations.
If I had to have it in my bedroom again, I would consider placing it on a 4×8 foot solid 1 inch hard wood plywood or something even firmer.
So, very happy overall.

I was very apprehensive about buying an elliptical sight unseen, but there were enough positive reviews to make me take the plunge. I did the free shipping, which worked fine because I wanted to unpack it in my garage anyway, and the room it was going in is just off the garage. The shipper placed the box in my garage, which was great since it weighs over 200 lb. Anyway, I had no problem unpacking everything and bringing the parts into my rec room (btw I am a 67 y/o male). I was going to have someone from Angie’s list assemble it but they did a no show on the appointment day, so I started on it myself. The assembly was awkward a few times but by no means difficult. Once I started on the assembly (by myself) I just kept going, emboldened by my successes. After finishing the assembly (about 2.5 hours) I plugged it in and it seems to be working great. Very solid and amazingly quiet. I’ve only used it about 10 minutes since assembly today but I think it’s a great buy (I will update if anything changes). I am waiting a week to attach the plastic trim parts in order to ensure all the nuts and bolts are tight (a review I had read recommended doing this). I had a nordictrack elliptical previously and this one seems so much better. Also, I think a lot of the reviews are for older/other models because doing this assembly solo was not as difficult as I expected.

I liked this elliptical before I knew how bad their Bluetooth system was. Someone in range of my elliptical was able to hijack to Bluetooth speakers. They blasted obscene comments between 1-3 hours before I finally just shut it off for good and haven’t used it since. There is no pin or password option offered to customers so anyone can automatically pair to the machine and never let the customer get back on the Bluetooth system until the stranger decides to stop and unpair themselves. A customers own personal devices will just be kicked off/rejected from the Bluetooth system if a stranger from anywhere decides to connect and stay on the machine for as long as they like. They can also get whatever personal or exercise data that may be put into the machine as well and have the ability to decide your workouts without your consent if they decide they want to also connect to the other Bluetooth part of the machine for only elliptical use. The customer service was not helpful with the situation claiming there’s no problem with the machine and the problem is really the customers environment for the machine being hijacked. Haven’t heard back from the company since those comments. Apparently, there’s no solution to the problem. It’s an unsecured machine easy for strangers to invade customers privacy at home.
