Let me say first – I now love this rower after a couple of weeks!! Easy to put together and works great. BUT, when I first received the rower and put it together, the mainframe didn’t work properly at all. The fan was warped and the belt was rubbing against the fan and fraying on the first use. It was WAY loud, too. So, I emailed customer service on day three and told them the situation. I merely said that I didn’t feel that I should have to pay for shipping back to the retailer for a defective product and asked what they could do to help. They not only replied within 12 hours, but no questions asked, they got me a new mainframe sent to me at no cost – and expedited it and I received it the very next day – no charge at all. They have GREAT customer service!!!! Once I installed the new mainframe, it’s like a whole new rower!!
I’m wondering if the people on here that say the rower is loud have the same defect mine originally did? Because it was quite loud then. The new mainframe isn’t as loud as before at all. I mean, it’s an AIR rower so, yeah, the harder you row, the louder the fan is going to get – shoot, a treadmill is loud too if you walk fast enough. It’s definitely tolerable though. I put my earbuds in and listen to music slightly over mid-volume and can’t hear the fan at all. The seat guides easy and the handle is easy to grip and you don’t lose grip on it at all. It’s textured, not smooth. Definite plus.
I’m also not sure why I’ve seen several comments about this machine not giving a hard enough workout for your legs. Maybe they were avid exercisers that need more of a challenge in the resistance part of things? I find it to be a GREAT workout – not only for my arms, but for my thighs and calves, too. I’ve always loved rowing but I’ve never owned my own machine. So, I guess you would call me a beginner. Bought it to get in shape and not in the best shape right now (will be after a few months though – sheesh!!). I find it to be a great and challenging workout with just the right tension to the row bar. The seat bar is at an agle so it gives your legs a better work out (in my opinion). I would suggest that any beginners definitely do the warm up exercises in the manual. They REALLY help. I did this the first two days without warming up and my forearms, elbows, and upper thighs REALLY felt it for a few days. After I started doing the warm ups though, that has helped tremendously!
Anyway, if you have any problems after you order this, register the product and contact the manufacturer immediately. They are super nice and helpful and will get you replacement parts at no cost if necessary! Don’t wait too long though because I think the warranty only lasts three months or so after the date of purchase. I would DEFINITELY recommend this product to anyone that wants a good quality rower at a great price. Once you get it working properly – it’s great!

Arrived quickly, easy to put together. Works great. It is a little loud, but this is the best quality you can get for the price.

Unboxing and build time was about 45 minutes. All parts fit together well.
This rower is good for people that don’t care about having a complex computer with multiple programs, and just want to row. I found the read outs from the basic computer to be very inaccurate, except for the timer.
I’m 5’9, athletically built (190 lbs) and fit the machine perfectly. This rower does have a pretty good stride, and a very good feeling grip handle. Resistance is enough to give the average person a very good work out.
One annoyance is the metal bar that stops the foot petals from pivoting. Very cheap feeling every time contact is made. I removed it and let the petals pivot naturally without a clanging noise every stride.
Overall, decent budget rower with positives and negatives.
Positives: Good movement

Edit- The pull cord is now broken as well. It will not retract, the spring is broken. As my parts warranty was up a month ago and this is the second major issue I’m not even going to see if I can fix it, as those seat rollers are going too. I’ve ordered a Concept 2 model D for toughness, as I guess my 5× weekly use was too much for this machine. You get what you pay for. It was not abused, I’m so disappointed. Do not reccomend this.
Original review: After 3 months of normal use the rollers have started ‘sticking’ at times when I’m rowing, and the paint is being stripped from the track. I can keep rowing when they aren’t gliding properly and it corrects itself for now, but this shouldn’t be happening so quickly and without abuse. I’m well under the max weight and it’s used 4-5× per week for 40 min. Otherwise I was very happy with it. Its very sturdy and a great workout even without adjustable resistance, I was very out of shape and I’m stronger, losing weight and more toned. It’s a little loud of course, air resist, but headphones take care of that. Very much hoping this keeps working for me, just love having a rower at home.

Just received this rower a few days ago, so this review is based on limited use.
The rower was fairly simple to assemble. The instructions were easy to follow.
The rowing motion is really smooth. The seat is comfortable. You can really feel the muscles working when rowing. As you row faster, the resistance increases, and it’s quite a good workout. You can feel it in the upper and lower body.
Before purchasing this unit, I read a lot of reviews for this one and many others, trying to determine which one would be the best value for me. After months of consideration, I decided on this one. Most of the reviews were very positive, but there were some negative ones. I like to look at the negative ones, just to see what people find wrong with things. I was a little concerned with some reviews criticizing the construction, but I find it to be well built and quite sturdy. It wouldn’t hold up to commercial use at a health club, but it’s just fine for home use.
Some reviews talk about the noise of the unit. It is quite loud. The faster you row, the louder it gets. If you have music or the TV on, you’ll have to turn it up, or wear headphones. This is why I only gave it 4 stars.

This is a really good product at an even better price!
Overall, this has been a great addition to my home gym (aka corner of the bedroom).
The workout on here is solid, and it sneaks on you. I do not realize how hard I am working out until I get to half a mile or so, and my arms start cramping, legs start shaking 🙂 I am short and hard like a body building elf, I do tons of weight lifting, and 3-5 miles per day on an elliptical. While this is a more whole body work out than the elliptical, I feel that it is quite additive to my routine, and i very much enjoy the device!
The machine was very easy to assemble solo, took longer to unpack the box than actual assembly. Build seems pretty solid, but I do wish the seat was slightly larger in every direction… despite the amount I work out, I have a big butt 🙂
Others have noted that the machine doesn’t have adjustable resistance, and this is true. But I really do not need it. Similar to rowing an actual boat, if you go fast on it, the routine seems more cardio focused. There is less resistance per pull, as the flywheel is already spinning. However, to keep the wheel rolling fast, you are doing more reps, so that equates to higher heart rate / more cardio. If you slow down, and pull deeper, the resistance per stroke is higher, which will put a little more resistance on each stroke.
This machine is rather loud on each pull of the rope, sadly, which is a downer if you like to netflix and cardio… but you can hear on the return stroke, where the air wheel makes much less noise. The noise is in line with the noise i have heard from the machines at the gym, so nothing abnormal, just something to keep in mind.
I do wish it had a bigger seat, or maybe I wish I had a smaller butt, idk 🙂
I got the rower at $299, and I feel this is a very good value!

This rower offers excellent value!
Pros:
Easy to assemble – much easier if you have someone to help you.
Solid build – lightweight but sturdy.
Great workout – allows you to go at your own pace, resistance increases with more effort.
Cons:
Seat is a bit uncomfortable, puts pressure on and around my tailbone (though it’s possible my technique isn’t perfect).
Other notes:
The machine is loud but that isn’t a con because it should be expected from an air rower.
The back needs to be lifted at least 30 to 45 degrees in order to engage the wheels freely (otherwise it drags).
I’ve been using this 4-5 times per week for over a month and it’s held up nicely.
Compared to the prices of the other options, I can’t imagine another rower providing as much value as this one.

This is an excellent rower, especially at this price point. It is second only to the Concept2, which is much more expensive and has a far larger footprint. I am a 5’4″ woman and I work out regularly (heavy lifting and cardio). The Stamina Air Rower definitely gets my heart rate elevated and provides a very good leg workout so long as you row using the proper technique (otherwise you’ll mostly get an arm workout). Assembly was very simple, but I do suggest having a 2nd person to help tighten the pedals.
My cousin (5’8″ male, incredibly fit) and I both use this rower daily. It fits perfectly in my tiny (10′ x 10′) home gym, along with my weight bench, assorted Olympic weights, other small equipment, and TV stand. It is loud, but all air rowers are loud. My home gym is in the basement. When using the rower, people upstairs hear what sounds like gentle snoring in a different room. I can use this rower early in the morning without waking my spouse.
The resistance is excellent. There is no damper to control the air flow but as with all air rowers, you can increase the resistance by rowing harder. (The reviews that complain about the inability to “change” resistance settings do not understand the way air rowers work. When you row an actual boat on water, you can’t change the resistance setting on the water, either. You get a better workout by rowing harder/faster.) I highly recommend this rower for a home gym.
I’ve uploaded a video so that others can get an idea of the noise level and range of the rowing strap. Obviously I don’t recommend rowing in jeans. 😉
