I bought this to replace my 6 year old Staimina 1050. That probably had some life left in it, but it was making noise and there was an annoying rubbing sound that I just couldn’t track down. After spending about $40.00 on replacement casters and bushings, I decided it was time for a new one.
I generally do an hour of rowing 3-4 times a week, so I certainly got my money’s worth out of the 1050.
As others have noted, the assembly is very straight forward. The included tools are useable, but if you have even a basic set of tools they are going to be better made and easier to use.
I like the bigger foot pedals as that was the biggest failing of th 1050. I also like the folding arms, because they make storing much easier. I’ll probably continue to use a Coccyx pad for the seat as my back hurts most of the time anyway.
I haven’t done a work out this yet, but I expect it to be pretty much the same experience as I had before.
One thing that other people have mentioned is the calorie counter. From what I have seen on line, the calorie count is on the low side. For an hour at setting 12 on the piston, about 400 is to be expected according to the charts.
Other than that, the numbers are accurate.
The feature set at this price point is very good.

This is used a lot by my husband but the spring seems to have a light and difficult setting, the transition isn’t as as noticeable. Overall, there are a few changes that would make it excellent but it works well so far

I was nervous to purchase this because there weren’t any reviews at the time I purchased it. The model below this one has plenty of reviews where most of the complaints stemmed from the foot rest not being large enough and the machine being noisy while rowing. I took a chance and got this model and it seems those issues have been addressed.
The machine was easy to assemble, took less than 15 mins, the only issue I had was putting the bottom part, that goes in the back, the stabilizer, on the medal part, it didn’t seem to fit. So, it was wobbly and unstable until after it was fully assembled, during my first few rows, my body weight forced the part to fit.
The foot rest is large enough to allow the foot to stay on the rest while rowing and the machine is pretty quiet. I’m not sure how accurate the calories burned meter is but the counter seems to be accurate for the number of rows. AA battery not included.
The actual workout, which can be adjusted with the tension selector, is a really good workout. I started on a 6 and you can really feel all of your muscles working. I’ve only had the machine since April 20th but I can already feel the results of the workout.
I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone looking to improve their cardio and tone up a bit.

I’ve been holding off on this review until I’ve used the product a bit. I’ve done 5 30 minute workouts on it and have a pretty good idea of what to say.
A bit about me, 48 year old male 5′ 10″ ~205 lbs. I use cardio gear to supplement a 6-day a week lifting routine. I either use the rower reviewed here, an elliptical, or run outside/treadmill when it’s too cold out. I alternate the cardio and never use the same equipment 2 days in a row.
On to the rower, it went together fairly easily. It is quite squeaky and noisy in the arms and seat. I got some general purpose oil and the arms are now silent but the seat still makes a bit of noise – I’ll be oiling up the wheels soon to try to eliminate that.
As for the workout if you maintain good form I think this is a GREAT workout. I use resistance 7 out of 12 and in 30 minutes get about 950+ strokes. I am wore out by the time I’m done and have a good sweat on. I don’t have a heart rate monitor but I am sweating and the house is in the mid 60 degrees so I am definitely working.
The seat is not so great – even though it’s not solid plastic the small about of padding doesn’t feel good even after about 10 minutes. I put a small towel or something down on it and I get through 30 minutes w/o any butt pain lol
The foot straps – move them to the top position. They come installed in the lower position which unless you have very small feet they will not be in a good position for locking you in. I wear mens size 12, on the top strap location my feet feel pretty secure although there is some movement. The velcro is strong but thin – I’d like to get something a bit better but so far they seem durable enough out of the box.
Overall I think the rower will last and for the money I think I got a good piece of gear. I like the arms with the full range of motion rather the the straight row pullback you see on the higher end machines. Also there is no chain to clean/maintain here. You do need to keep the tracks clean but the unit folds up easily and stores with a small footprint. Good value IMO.

It took a bit to put together and my husband lost one of the bolts down a small hole, so had to find another. It is a lot sturdier than I thought it would be. It is very easy to get ready to use and easy to stand back up again when done. It does not take up a lot of floor space and is light enough to move if it does get in the way.
You can use the counter or the time, which is great. I like the counter and my husband likes the timer. It does give your last count, which you can reset, but also a total count. Only problem with total count is that it is counting two people. Doesn’t really matter.
We have just had it about a week, so can’t say about long term wear. So far, very happy.

This is a well built glider, sturdy. It was easy to put together and looks as it does in the pictures. I can honestly say the only thing I would recommend to someone looking to purchase this is that you be taller than 5 feet 2 inches.
I am a woman and find that I don’t get the full advantage of a good workout because of the distance between the foot cups and the operation needed for the rowing arms. The foot cups are set too far back. Everything else about it is great. The seat is comfortable and the glide is very smooth. I would recommend this product…..just be sure you are over 5’ 2”.

Pretty easy to put together. Used a few times and absolutely love it. The arm movement mimicing an actual row is brilliant. Feet straps are nice and secure. No complaints!

So, first if you’re short like me and can never figure out if its the right machine, I’m 5’2. It fits me just fine. The top of the bars on my back stroke are just about shoulder height. I have not tried to use a lot of tension on it yet. Mostly just as a way to get my heart rate up some when I get home from work after siting at a desk all day. I have noticed that the hydraulic cylinder is hot when I get done.
I didn’t bother plugging in the little machine that gives you stats. I just put on my iWatch. The platform is good for putting my phone on if I want to watch TV while doing it since I don’t have a TV in the room that it is in.
I’ve used Concept2s at the gym and also like them quite a bit. But this one is nice because I can decide how far apart my arms are as I’m pulling back. Terrific way to work different muscle groups her and there.
I’ve had it for about a month and have only used it from 10-20 minutes at a time but it is a great machine so far.
**Update – I’ve had it for a few months now and my only complaint is that the smallest shift in tension (the little knob you turn to increase/decrease tension) makes it so hard that I can’t row it. At the point just before that happens, the highest I can get my hear rate is about 123, which is pretty close to my walking heart rate. Other than that, it still works well. I like having something compact for the spare room that I can hid with family comes to visit.

Fast shipping. Simple assembly. Have only used it once but a great workout with a lightweight portable piece of equipment. So far very happy with it!
