I never write reviews but I was so disgusted I had to in this case. I spent a lot of time reviewing vertical climbers and finally decided on this one because of the percentage of 5 star reviews. It arrived on time and was easy to put together. But on the initial ride, it was not smooth at all but rather jerky. I continued to ride for about 5 minutes until it became almost unusable. Upon closer inspection, the pieces that came already assembled, were grinding together. It was hot to the touch from the friction! Ok so it’s Amazon, I figured easy return. But no, I have to pay for return shipping….to CHINA! For an oversized 30lb box, that’s not cheap! So buyer BEWARE.

I always like to know how easy/difficult it is to put stuff together before I decide to buy something. So ill start there. I saw several reviews saying this is a 2 man job to put together but its really not. Its actually quite simple to do and easy to do alone. Maybe like 30 minutes or less. I must say the instructions and the example pictures were easy to follow. The only thing that sucked is the hardware instructions. They dont tell you which size bolts and nuts to use on each step and there are multiple sizes and kinds in the package. They only tell you where a bolt, etc is to go. After looking over the instructions and the hardware and machine for several minutes I then started catching on by turning on my common sense to figure out which bolt, etc I needed to use for each step. It actually wasnt hard at all to put together or to figure out the hardware. After getting the machine put together it doesnt seem like the strongest or best durability but its decent and good enough that I would def recommend giving it a try and I am happy with my purchase. I dont see any where to set or change resistance but what I have found helpful is to use ur own weight for the resistance. By that when one leg is going up and the other is coming down, dont bring the pedal all the way down to where you landing on the base bar at the floor. Stop yourself just above it and you can get a really good work out in. I also seen a bunch of reviews stating the machine is flimsy or wobbly. Mine doesn’t wobble and I have it set up on carpet with no mat or anything under it. I dont know if those were older reviews and the company since improved the machine or if others mentioning this issue didnt tighten all the bolts every where strong and properly. I just know I havent crossed that issue. I just got it today and was only able to last on it for about 5 minutes. I dont exercise ever so I need to warm up before im all pro at it lol and unfortunately I don’t have anything to mention if I’ve toned up, lost weight, etc. But that first 5 minutes I feel it in my legs and lower stomach area and maybe a little in my shoulders. If I can remember to keep up with this review I will update in a couple weeks the progress. Hope some of this helps anyone. I say try it out! Oh and one last thing, wear shoes! I didnt have shoes on and my feet hurt lol

Excellent product! Very sturdy, very easy to assemble. Fit well in my tiny 1 bedroom apartment, and very easy to use. Set it up in front of the tv if you lack motivation that day….by the end of a thirty minute episode, you’ll have gotten a good workout…if you can go that long! Definitely an effective workout. Looking forward to seeing results!

This arrived yesterday. Delivery was well before schedule, which was a pleasant surprise.
I did have a couple of assembly issues. First, despite being listed on the parts list, no lubricating oil was in the box. Second, a random small screw fell out of the main portion of the machine as I was unboxing it. I am not able to determine where it came from, as all places that seem like they should have a screw do. Third (and most concerning), one of the screw holes on the bottom of the main machine piece is millimeters too small, such that the bolt can’t be put through it in order to attach the washer and nut. I temporarily used the elastic pin there and put the bolt that is supposed to go there at the other end, attaching the cross bar to the supportive back frame. However, this is not a permanent solution because the pin doesn’t fully lock in place and because this would also take away the foldability of the machine… which is the reason the pin is supposed to go in the top.
In terms of functionality, the machine is stable and moves pretty smoothly for a machine that relies completely on the user’s power to move. However, the screen on the machine is not functional. Numbers show up when you push the button. They even change if you hit the button again. But they’re faint and the labels telling you what each number is are completely invisible. Which is not a big deal to me, I didn’t buy this for the screen. Just letting others know not to buy this for the screen either.
All in all, it seems like it will be functional. But I am going to have to problem solve the bolt issue.

It’s not very sturdy but it is a good work out. Start slow then work your way up. Full body. Not for the meek. I just wish it came with some resistant alternatives. There is no resistance here and you must be careful with it’s use or you could topple over. Not for kids.

As soon as I got mine I was excited a ready to try it out! Easy to assemble, took about 30 minutes. I put it together by myself. Great total body workout. I’ve only had mine three days, and working up to five minutes is my hoal for now!!
Would recommend.

This is a very basic piece of exercise equipment — no motor, powered just by muscle and gravity. The chain connecting the pedals to the body of the machine looks pretty sturdy. I’ve noticed that paint on the support members is started to wear a bit, but this is no big deal. I’ve been surprised at how much of a workout this thing gives me. I’m reasonably fit and can go for 20-30 minutes on an elliptical machine without too much trouble, but so far can only do about 10-15 minutes on this machine before my legs scream “STOP ALREADY!” Different muscles, different workout. I also love that the machine folds up into a compact footprint that fits into a corner of my utility room. One major cautionary note: when assempling, make sure that the curved support feet curve out, not in toward the center of the machine. I installed them the wrong way at first, and it was very unstable. I fixed it, and it is stable now.
