I tried this several times and it just couldn’t get an accurate step count. There are directions in the box for the ways to get the most accurate step count, and I did follow them, but it was always off by a different amount each time. Very frustrating, I just wanted a simple pedometer to count steps. Nothing more.
The plusses were it comes with a handy clip, a lanyard to wear around the neck if you choose, and an extra battery. I thought that was a nice touch and thoughtful – thus the three stars. There is also an app for your smartphone so you can connect them and keep track of not only your steps, but distance traveled, calories burned and work toward a goal.
But the whole inaccurate step count thing just overshadowed these nice touches.

Comes with an extra battery. I tried switching out for the battery already installed and it still didn’t work.

Setup was easy and quick using the provided application for my phone. It synced easily to my phone and was simple to set up and get running. I’ve used it for several days now, and after letting it connect to my phone it updated the app and gave me immediate data on my steps for each day. My only concern is the setup with the belt clip and the big red button on the device – when you go to remove the belt clip you’ll press the red button, too, which isn’t a big deal but concerned me that I might mess up some settings in the process. That doesn’t seem to be the case, so maybe I’m just being too careful. Otherwise, it works great!

I was looking for a replacement pedometer and came across this little gadget. It was easy to set up, and an added plus was that it came with a replacement battery! I have tested the step counter, and it works accurately. I can use it on my hip or around my neck. The cloth lanyard is easy to detach for washing. So far, I give this product five stars! One more thing: I finally connected it to my phone. Another plus is that it lets me know when I have reached my daily goal, so it is my little technical cheerleader!

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other reviews that I am getting an inaccurate step count regardless of how I use this pedometer.
I counted steps manually walking very slowly as well as trying it against an older pedometer and it’s just off. When I initially tried it I was so excited that just unloading the dishwasher and making breakfast got me almost 1000 steps but having experience with what gains steps I was skeptical and decided to try counting and comparing.
I will continue to try and troubleshoot as I love the display and simply functions. The lanyard and clip are nice additions but what really pleased me was the complimentary spare battery! Those tiny batteries are not cheap and not something that I ever have spares of so I loved how the company was thoughtful enough to include one. Additionally, the back is pretty easy to get off when you do need to replace it.

I have used this for a day and it is not accurate. I would walk and it would count more steps than I took or less than I took depending on how fast I walked. I used it in different ways such as, in my hand and walking, on my waist in different spots and all of those times it was inaccurate. I also don’t like that if you walk in place it does not count that. If I’m doing a walking video and want to count my steps, I cannot.

I tried to wear it in different ways to see if I could get at least as close as possible, but it was pretty much like 4 to 500 steps off, only once it cam e close.
Plus that red button is in the worst spot where you have to squeeze it to open it in order to clip it on.

I installed the app on my iPad. It connected easily with Bluetooth and automatically set up the time. It keeps a better count of my steps than 2 previous pedometers that only registered steps walked in a regular cadence outdoors and tended not to count steps indoors made slower and shorter distances. It tends to over-count while my previous pedometers under-count, so none are perfect. I noticed bumping it increments the counts in addition to steps, so mounting in a position where it won’t get bumped is important. The history feature in the App is nice as I record my daily counts in a spreadsheet and take a weekly average for my average steps per day for the week. My first pedometer automatically reset to zero at midnight and didn’t save history so if I didn’t remember to record my steps at the end of the day, the count was gone the next morning. My second pedometer had to be manually reset to zero, which I had to do in the morning after recording steps for the previous day. The clip is strong enough to stay on my belt but I always run the lanyard through a belt loop so it won’t get lost if it falls off.
