It’s a teensy bit wobbly at times when you’re standing, but it’s a great bike at a great price. I used a commercial Echelon bike at a gym I went to and was a little apprehensive to get a personal one, but I definitely like it.

The product picture shows an iPad. It’s not part of the product.
Also checking the speed or any other feature is available only with subscription. No subscription = you get. Very basic bike.

Two years after my initial purchase I final invested in bike cleat shoes. Sadly it took me this long to discover there was a manufacturer error made in the pedals. The model claims the that it adapts to two, types of shoes, street shoes and bike shoes with cleats. Though this may be true the pedals sent with my bike were installed with reversed shoe cleats and and in order to switch from street shoes to Spd cleatbike shoes the pedals need to be removed

Bought my Echelon EX3 2 months ago.
Pros:
– Slick looking, sturdy and pedals very smooth.
– So far app works well, I received my 1st year subscription for free with bike purchase
Cons:
– The Handle bars do not adjust horizontally (only vertically). With the seat pushed as far forward as it goes I am still reaching a bit. (I am 5’9″)
– No built in monitor, you require to use the app in order to view your (distance, cadence, output, etc…). I previously read that the freestyle was free of use, however you need an Echelon app account to use the freestyle and this requires a subscription. ( I received 1 year free, I don’t know what my options are after that)
Overall I am happy with the performance, but concerned about the ongoing costs after my free app subscription expires.

I used to have a peloton – ride it for three years very happily. I sold it to a friend because I got really into running. I had to stop running for all the reasons they share you should not run. I decided to buy a new bike but did not want to spend $2500 for a Peloton. So I found this. I just finished my first ride and it basically felt like I was on my old Peloton. Quality, speed, quiet and smooth ride were basically indistinguishable. I saved $2100 with this purchase vs rebuying my peloton.
Some considerations:
– I still use my peloton app to do rides (I love Ally love). I don’t mind not having a cadence counter because I use the music to adjust my speed. It would be a plus if this bike had one but not something that is really important to me.
– set up was super easy – took me 30 min. I did need my husband to help me carry the box up to my office. I did not need his help to move it once it was put together.
– something anyone can use – the peloton was only able to be used by my husband if he bought the shoes. I like that this one doesn’t need the shoes so he has one less excuse for why he isn’t working out more often 😂.

Crazy as it sounds, at the price point these are selling at (the EX-7s being discontinued with the new EX-8s being the commercial’ish grade replacement) we bought two of these. So far we are loving them. It was very easy to assemble – took me about 2 hours the first time being very meticulous, following the instructions to a T, etc., and a little over an hour the 2nd time around.
The software setup through the screen in both cases was tricky – if you don’t have ethernet, you first specify your wifi info – all good – download the latest firmware for the tablet/screen – all good – then when the screen tries to pair with the bike, the problem starts. The simple solution/workaround is to disconnect the USB cable between the bike and the screen and have the screen pair with the bike via bluetooth. At that point, it’ll pair with the bike, allow you to upgrade the firmware on the bike, and then you can reconnect the USB and have wired connectivity between the bike and the screen, which is more stable than bluetooth. Annoying, but only a one-time hassle and it’s worked great ever since.
The quality and ruggedness of the bike is amazing – especially at this price point (less than a quarter of the original price when released!). We don’t have the P bike or a Nordi or other high end ones, but did spend a lot of time with a BF Velo and I’d say that the build quality is on par with the BF Velo.
The drivetrain is very smooth and quiet and provides plenty of resistance.
The screen is very high quality and very responsive. The speakers are tinny, but we paired it to a bluetooth soundbar so no longer a concern.
We successfully paired this with the Echelon heart rate arm band monitor and it works great showing you your heart rate stats including your calculated zone on the screen during the workouts.
The Echelon subscription content is fantastic. We’ll likely continue to pay for it after the free trial period ends shortly.
Our only concern is that they do use a proprietary bike pedal (the diameter threading that attaches to the crank) and while it’s very heavy duty, if the pedal ever needs to be replaced, no idea whether Echelon will carry them. Hoping we never need to find out. As for the pedals, they work fine with SPD cleated shoes or regular athletic shoes if you don’t want to clip in – we’ve used both.
Overall we love this bike (again, we bought two of them, we like them that much!). I don’t imagine it’ll be on sale much longer, but if you can pick one up anywhere close to the price they’re currently selling at, you absolutely should. Highly recommended.

This bike was very easy to assemble. Took maybe 40 min and I took my time, the directions for assembly were very clear. I was a little nervous when it came to the pedals because never have I had luck putting them on. Directions explained the left pedal is a reverse thread and just like that it went on without issues. Yay me! I took a 40 min ride the 1st nite so I could make adjustments prior to workout the next aftn.
It connected without and issue. I’ve read in reviews others have had issues and could not connect to the app so I was concerned I made the wrong choice. Day 3 behind me and no connection troubles. You get a month free with the echelon app and I will forewarn the monthly membership is pricey, 39 a month. If you pay for 2 yrs it is 33. I’ve read if you do not go with the membership you can still use freestyle in the app. I will renew atleast once and see how it goes. Some say you can use the peleton app and that’s around 12 bucks. I do not understand why echelon is so much more.
As for the ride it is a very quite ride. The only noise coming off of the bike was from the rider, me, yelling at the instructor because they tell me to increase resistance to like 18 and I am a beginner! Just wait Echelon. I will get there
Cons? Well the pricey app membership but if it gets my backend to commit money we’ll spent depending on a person’s budget.
I have experienced the seat sliding back on m e after it was assembled tightly but I may not have had it snug enough. Was being careful not to strip any threads .
That’s it, I love this bike! I think one needs to take in consideration of one’s size and internet connection before buying. The bike itself fit through the doorway when I wheeled it into another room.
I think this bike is a great choice for beginners.

At first, it didn’t connect to its own app. It wouldn’t load classes on the screen; and it wouldn’t download updates to software. I have opened a support request on the Echelon and the next day I got a response. Provided a few details asked and got the protocol needed to fix the error. Bike is running well now, classes are great.

This is my first bike and I love it. I chose this one because the fly wheel is encased. It is safer to ride around my cats.
Came with a couple scratches that would normally bother me but I love the bike so I’ll get over it.
You can’t see your resistance or cadence without the app. So you will need to plug the bike in if you want Bluetooth. I couldn’t figure out how to use the app without activating the free trial. So I found a different app to use instead. It doesn’t have a screen so you will need a phone or tablet if you want. Or you can just ride it without Bluetooth if you don’t care to see your resistance or cadence.
This bike does not have SPD pedals so if you like to clip in you will need to buy those separately.
The seat hurts my butt. I might buy the oversized seat if I don’t get used to it. I already feel like it’s hurting less after one week of riding.
Bike is easy to assemble, sturdy, quiet, smooth. I’m a new rider so I think it’s a good entry level bike for the price. I’m pretty happy with it. Now I don’t have to travel to the gym for a quick cardio session.
