I’ve had this machine for a week now, and it does exactly what I need it to do. This replaces a machine I had for nearly 20 years, that eventually broke, with no replacement flywheel available to fix it. So here I am. That said, its rather shocking to see the build quality now. To say it’s a bit underwhelming would be an understatement, but these all seem to be made in Asia now, and we see where the manufacturer’s are saving money. The main reason I bought the Luft is because it was the only one here that actually looked like a real machine. Buying a different rower for $189? I mean, would that have even lasted me 6 months? So with the Luft, the main thing you need to know, is unlike the description, this machine uses a fan for resistance, it is not Magnetic, as described. There’s a fan and a long chain, and this machine runs loud. So if you require a quiet machine that won’t disturb others, this may not be your best option. The Luft requires two D batteries to run the display. The battery cover is loose, and the screw to hold it shut is not threaded properly, so you may need to use tape or a rubber band to keep it closed. The batteries fit loosely in the compartment, so have tape ready to keep it closed. The machine is quite long, so I have to take it apart after every workout. The concept is simple, but the execution takes practice. After a week I’m still trying to get used to it. The straps that hold your feet are installed backwards, meaning the slack of the straps hang from both sides, left and right, into the space where you attach the monorail, so you need to secure those strap ends BEFORE you position the monorail for attachment, otherwise they will be caught and stuck. So, in summary, great machine, I just wish they had somebody that cared to take care of all the finishing details.

The rower is awesome once you get everything assembled correctly. The resistance settings are great and I can get a good work out if I wanted to. My only gripe is that the rower is extremely long. I had thoughts that I would just fold it in half or something to put it away, but it’s not as easy as it sounds. It’s bulky and not light.
Also, I wish there was a plugged option. I don’t have D batteries lying around and honestly, I wish it was plugged so I can use all the features, right out of the box.

It was SUPER easy to assemble (you couldn’t ask for better instructions). Smooth gliding seat and rowing mechanism with great range of resistance.

I’ve been an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist for 25 years and have used a lot of different rowing machines over the years….Concept II, Water Rowers and those low end hydraulic rowers for home use. The Concept II is pretty much the standard for high quality rowers with the water rowers coming in a very close second. Currently I have been using a Concept II “air”/fan rower at my local gym a couple of times a week for a couple of years as part of my cardiovascular exercise program and I really like it. This Luft Sweden rower is just as good if not better. It is smooth, quiet, consistent in feel and tension. It is easily adjustable and has a very ergonomic fit and function. The fact that it is foldable makes it easy to move/store out of the way when not in use. It actually costs significantly less than a Concept II rowing machine, and functions just as good. The seat rolls smoothly and quietly and is comfortable to sit on. The foot rests hold your feet firmly. I can’t say enough good things about this rower. Now I have a high quality unit at home to use instead of having to drive over to the gym. I am very, very happy with the Luft Sweden rowing machine and would recommend this before a Concept II for similar feel, function and quality at a much lower price point, but without any quality or manufacturing issues that could have made it less desirable than a Concept II. I think you will be very happy with it, as well.

I had used concept 2’s in the past (in gyms) and as my own magnetic rower broke, I was looking for a replacement. These rowers are AS GOOD as a concept 2, and is cheaper in price. I have been using it regularly and I love it! Highly recommend!

Very easy to put together, instructions were great. Smooth & quiet. Folds up easily & re-set up is easy, & easy to move rower around. Resistance WORKS ! Way better then concept 2 which is crazy expensive and why to pay more ? Love the Swedish Quality and love this rower.

The machine only requires the assembly of the wheel stand part, which took me about 4 minutes to set up. Takes two D batteries. It connects with apps to compete against others from all over the world.
