My 6 and 4 year olds have both been begging for a watch like my Apple Watch. This looks similar enough and works great. No need to use the app or a smart phone. Several kid games, the graphics are bright and vivid. Both kids love to be able to tell me what time it is. It’s a little big for both of their wrists but that is to be expected. Overall we are very pleased with the purchase!

I got the Mgaolo Kids Smart Watch for my 9yo son. He’s been keen to track his steps so I thought this would be ideal. I was a bit disappointed to see that the instructions wanted me to download an app and unfortunately this wasn’t compatible with my son’s Android 11 Lenovo tablet. As it turned out, you don’t really need the app and we were able to change the display settings and use the watch just on its own.
As with all these watches, I’m annoyed that they come with games. There’s really no need for this and it’s not something I really want on a watch my son is wearing to school. He’s pretty sensible but his teacher doesn’t need wearable tech causing distractions in class.
There are lots of holes on the strap, so the watch is really adjustable. I would say that the smallest wrist size is probably that of an average 7+ year old, because although there’s lots of holes, you’ll be left with lots of spare strap too. On the plus side, the strap also fits an adult sized wrist, so would fit all children inbetween.
Another plus is that the watch has a timer function which is easy to use with pre-set with various timers you can set with just a tap, plus you can set you own time too. This is exactly what we wanted in a child’s watch as it’s handy to tell my son he has 10mins then needs to do something. He can now set the timer on his watch. It does also have a do not disturb option but you need to find it in the settings and turn it on. Because the watch isn’t connected to the app, it’s not getting notifications from messages or things anyway, which is also what we wanted to avoid.
Obviously I’ve not downloaded and linked the watch to the app, so there might be more options on there that I’m not aware of.
I’d recommend it on the basis that it works without the app and that it isn’t too expensive (£19.99). It actually looks pretty high quality and the button on the side has a good, sturdy click to it.

The most important thing for me with this smart watch for children is that it can work offline without the need for a smart phone (the child it is for is only 5 so obviously doesn’t have that!). You can also link it with an app but for the sake of this review I’ve focused on what is available out the box.
The watch strap is long enough that both adults and children can wear it. For younger children there will probably be a bit of excess length.
There are some great features on here, the ones that will appeal most to children are;
– The choice of faces – they also offer animation (ie; bubbles move, the unicorn cat wags its tail) (see attached composite picture)
– The games – there are 5 little mini games including a ‘snake’ game (just like the old Nokias!) which I’m sure any child will enjoy figuring out
– Steps count
– Activity tracking including Cycling, Basketball, Swimming, Badminton, Rugby, Tennis and Table Tennis (plus others)
The battery takes around an hour to charge and helpfully the level is displayed on screen, both during charging and during operation. It lasts about a week, but won’t fare as long if lots of time is spent playing on the watch.
Cons:
– The step count seems a bit overzealous when compared to my other smart watch that I’ve been wearing at the same time.
– The screen isn’t the most responsive which can cause some frustration
– The only data collected is step count and heart rate. Calories burned are determined by step count however in offline (not connected to the app) mode you aren’t able to input personal data like gender/weight/height. So I would take the statistics with a pinch of salt!
At the time of writing this smart watch is for sale at a bargain price of £19.99. It isn’t going to do everything that the high end branded ones do, but for kids under 14 who don’t mind or don’t need the additional features, it’s pretty decent.

My daughter loves this watch. Lovely colour combo pink and purple and she is able to track her daily steps. It’s a fun activity watch

Most of the smart watches for kids have so big screen. This one is perfect and suits better on his arm. Very nice watch
Buster’s Mom –
This is a perfect smartwatch to accompany a young child’s phone, or for an adult who likes pastel colors. Setup was easy and it linked solidly with the phone. I would recommend this product.

I am very impressed with the quality of this kids smart watch. If I didn’t order it for my niece, I would most definitely give this smart watch to my wife. This smart watch is definitely worth the price.

This watch looks so elegant and beautiful, my kid asked me to buy for his friend as birthday gift and to my surprise both really liked it. Material is soft and comfy that a kid can wear for whole day to track activity. Having HR monitor, alarm clock, and sleep monitor makes its even better for specific purposes. Colour pattern is also really good and most suitable for kids tastes. Overall, happy with the purchase seeing happiness on kids face.

We have a very active elementary aged child who is obsessed with accessories – especially watches. It was only a matter of time before we caved and got him a smart watch that could (at the very least) track his steps throughout the day, but the cost of many smart watches kept us from actually making the purchase. This watch was perfectly priced for this purpose though! I like the look and feel of the watch – it does not feel cheap or like a plastic toy – and the sizing holes in the band go all the way around so it can accommodate very small wrists. We didn’t have any issue charging the watch or pairing it, but I will note that the watch uses metric scales rather than imperial and I have not been able to figure out how to change it. That by itself wouldn’t be enough to take away a star, but when you are setting up your child’s profile, the weight only goes down to 30kg (about 66lbs). It was annoying to me that I could not enter my child’s actual weight, when that seems like a totally arbitrary line to draw. The product doesn’t say “only for kids 30kg and above” or list any health/safety concerns with using the watch on smaller/lighter children. Indeed, I could enter my child’s true height (in cm) without issue. For that reason, I have docked one star. But we will surely get a lot of use out of this product regardless. Would recommend!

I have given this watch 5 out 5 stars, as at this price point it is good value for money for kids. This watch has games but no camera so most schools should allow it. The watch strap is ideal for small wrists and looks smart.
I am very pleased with this watch as it can be configured without the app and is useful for activity and sleep tracking, plus it seems to be tougher than it looks. This watch has survived several rounds of bashing and being submerged in water.
The software on the watch is intuitive, and the well-sized clear screen means that the options are easy to read and select. This watch has lots of functions but does not have a torch mode, which is a little disappointing. The alarm has a vibration and seems to be very good at making Children aware that an alarm (breakfast, wakeup etc) is occurring.
Unfortunately, the touch screen is not that responsive, so you need to take your time with it. Also, like many other smart watches, the display is hard to see in strong sunlight.
Charging connector is magnetic, so it is easy to snap on and off.
Pros:
– Good-sized screen.
– Good for small wrists.
– Can be use in schools (no camera and no games).
– Activity and Sleep tracking are very useful.
– Alarm works well.
– Tougher than it looks.
– Waterproof.
– Magnetic charging connector
Cons:
– Touch screen is not that responsive.
– Screen has poor visibility in strong sunshine.
