So far so good. Nice and compact. Quality is reasonable and it seems to work pretty well. II haven’t had any issues yet, but I just opened the box and will update soon.

Update 31 Mar 2024: I’m not sure if it’s my posture or something else entirely, but I’ve been noticing recently (after at least once per week use since my initial review) that the stepper is not always counting my steps and time in use correctly. I’ll be stepping and it won’t count anything. I’m not sure if I’m going too fast for it to count, if I’m leaning too far forward or back, or what. My weight is also currently 245 pounds, I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it but I will note it for others. Because I have an Apple Watch, I’m not that terribly concerned about it, but I wanted to note it for those who may not have any kind of fitness tracker and will be relying on the machine’s screen.
The first stepper I received arrived damaged; one of the foot pedals had broken off. Since the pedals are just screwed in, I was rather hoping I could find an option to just get a replacement pedal. Unfortunately, the only option was to return the whole thing and get a new one. Thankfully, the new one shipped in less time, and arrived fully intact with padding around the box this time.
Setup was very easy, really the only thing needing assembling was screwing in the knob. The knob raises and lowers the pedals, which I think contributes to the amount of resistance you experience. I don’t know how much I trust the step count; all I needed to do was make minimal movement between the two pedals and it would count as a full step. So, take the number with a grain of salt, but it does make for a nice bit of cardio if you use it for 10-15 minutes. Doing things like increasing your speed, squatting down a little bit or just altering your posture can change up the difficulty and how your legs are targeted. I personally haven’t used the resistance bands with it and likely won’t.
My biggest complaint–which is a personal complaint–is how much my thighs rub together using this. The steps don’t move straight up and down, the foot that is lifted curves in at the top. While I can get a workout in on this, I can only do it for so long before I get bothered by my thighs rubbing together that much. If you are someone with thicker thighs, this is definitely something to consider.

I had no problem with any oil spilling, like mentioned in a couple other reviews. Installation was easy and it’s small so convenient to store. I think that it is actually fun to use, I have been using it while watching my partner play video games lol
I think that the calorie counter probably over estimates calories burnt a little, but that’s alright. If you struggle with balance, I would be careful because it could tip. It isn’t a “smooth motion” because it’s a stepper, so it could hurt your knees if you have joint issues (could still probably use it but should go slow). The resistance bands help me keep my balance, I just wish they were a little more taunt. Overall I think it is a good value for a small stepper, and a nice “mindless” exercise to try!

Similar to another review, the oil spilled all over the packaging. The instructions aren’t clear as to how to set the adjustable knob. So far it is very quiet and the tension is good. It’s a good workout for 15 minutes. It would be great to have resistant bands with multiple tension options.

It arrives assembled, all you need to do is screw the adjustment knob in and clip the bungee straps on. The adjustment knob does NOT adjust tension but instead it adjusts the step height. The adjustment knob does not seem necessary to me as you can simply leave it adjusted at the highest step height and simply do shorter steps if you want – so I am not clear the value of the adjustment but it is there if you find value in it.
It has plenty of weight to stay put when you use it. It states a max weight of 350 lbs which is double my weight so I cannot confirm but that sounds like it would be pushing it a bit.
Using this thing does give you a workout, I feel it throughout my legs and particularly in my knees.
It is jerky, it is NOT like an elliptical that builds and stores inertia so it hardly feels smooth while using it. It is exercise and not a leisure device. It may NOT be a good choice for someone with knee problems.
The shoe pads are 11″ length which is about an inch shorter than my size 11 men’s shoes – adequate but if your shoe size is much larger than mine it may feel a little unstable.
The electronic meter works and has an auto off after a few minutes of being dormant. It counts and some other things and is resettable so it gets the job done. It came with batteries already installed.
Operating it is NOT silent but it is not too annoying sounding. If you stop short of bottoming each pedal out it is a little quieter but do not expect to bring it to a library.
The bungee straps are not length or tension adjustable and they feel a little too soft/stretchy. You can tie a knot or come up with some way to shorten them but you are on your own to solution it. A high-back chair would serve well for someone wanting something to brace themselves but I found it easier than I expected to balance on it and use it.
The included instructions are quite poor. There is no explanation of the included tools or small bottle of oil.
Using the thing does give you a workout which is the reason you are buying it and the reason I decided to give it 4 stars.
