I bought this rowing machine about six month ago. It’s was working perfectly.
After 4 months, for unkown reason, the display stopped working, so I contacted customer service.
They sent me the replacement part in reasonable time at no cost.
I appreciated the exchanges I had with customer service and I find that this product is very good with excellent value for money.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a rowing machine.

I like the machine while it is functional. Good versatile little machine for casual workout at home. Just after 1 year and few months, the machine died. It does not recoil the code now, so practically impossible to use. This is also a problem with Amazon, there is no parts or responsibility of serviceable life on a machine like this that costs around 500$ and expect to work at least 10 years without much service required on a lite house hold usage setting.

Easy to assemble, works great. The only thing that would be better, is if the foot placement would adjust. 👍

****UPDATE****
05/23/23
I’ve been using this machine since 2020. I purchased it during the pandemic. I’m still using it today. I try to get on it 5 times per week. I do 80 minutes per workout. Works out to 20,000 meters average. I try to stay above 32 SPM. My complaints are, I can’t save a course once I’ve taken the time to create it. secondly, there are issues with the dashboard. It just doesn’t explain itself well. I’ve never gotten the pulse meter to work. It works by Bluetooth but I’ve yet to fine anything that will connect to it. The ‘fitshow’ app is basically worthless. No graphs, no comparisons, I’m not sure how it is expected to help with the rower.
So, I’ve been using it for 3 years now. It is still very quiet and smooth. I’m 70 years old and need a softer seat, so I put a little pillow on it :). Now I paid full price for it, and I still think that was a pretty good deal. At this price, it is a steal. Just get yourself a FitBit watch or other means to record calories and save your workouts. Seeing your progress helps to stick with it.
I haven’t had it long enough to review. I will come back every 30 days.
Update 1: I put it together today. Not too difficult. Most of the bolts are already in the frame. You just back them out, attach the part, re-install the bolt. Took me about two hours but that includes un-packing and carrying the parts upstairs.
The unit is very sturdy and very quite. This is very well built and has a smooth pull and slide. I’m trying to learn the display console now. You need a computer degree to figure it out. Will update again later.

I ordered the SereneLife rowing machine a couple weeks ago and have been using it prior to submitting a review. As an experienced rower in college, and here I am 20+ years later, I still row on a weekly basis on water in a boat. I purchased this erg/rowing machine to help stay conditioned for outdoor rowing. I vowed that I would never erg again because I vividly recall the numerous workouts of the erg machine and the fatigue your muscles can feel because rowing machines really pushes you to anaerobic threshold=pain! However, the Serene Life rowing machine is AMAZING for many reasons. It is very well made; I am impressed with the quality of materials used. It’s fairly simple to assemble; I understood the instructions & had no problem assembling it with no help, and I’m a “girl”! It is very smooth and the seat and handle are comfortable. I LOVE that it has a stand to put your tablet/phone. It’s easy to store; I keep mine tilted upright when not in use. It’s pretty easy to roll and move around (I like to roll mine outside for an outdoor workout). It has numerous workout levels, or you can select manual; and the resistance levels are great. You will get an excellent workout. And the price is unbelievable! I almost invested over $2000 in a competitor’s model and I cancelled that order just in time after I did a little more research and found this SereneLife machine and purchased it from Amazon for ¼ of the price I almost paid! So for anyone that is hesitant to purchase this, you will not be disappointed!

This was pretty simple to assemble with one glitch, it does require a set of pliers which I had to buy. But I have put it together by myself over the course of about 90 minutes. The ride is smooth. I weigh about 230 lbs and this feels sturdy and safe.
It would be faster if I had an assistant because I kept dropping screws and bolts. The monitor is easy to use.
I look forward to improving my health with this row machine.

Out of the Box Setup:
Received the rowing machine and put it together yesterday. The directions were very clear and the majority of the screws/bolts/washers were already in their holes so you didn’t have to worry about matching up sizes to specific components. The most annoying/time consuming part about assembly was taking it out of the box (there is a lot of plastic, tape, and styrofoam packed in tight). Only issue I had during assembly is that the front slide rail cover is plastic that sheared when I screwed it together (hand tight). It still holds together since there are 3 other screws for that piece, but not too great that the plastic is that brittle. I am a woman in my mid-20s and was able to put the entire unit together on my own without help/an extra set of hands. I would highly recommend using your own Phillips Head screwdriver instead of the one that comes with the machine (using a magnetic tipped one made things even easier).
The unit came in a pretty heavy, awkward shaped box that was 47”x31”x11”. The machine is made in China for those who were asking.
Machine Features:
The display is very nice, bright, and easy to read. The “smart” model is totally digital and does not have a knob to manually adjust resistance. If you want more than just the light fan resistance, you will need to have the unit plugged into a wall. It does have the pull feedback of an air/water erg, but I haven’t gotten into many of the programs yet, so I can’t comment on difficulty/resistance at the higher levels. Using manual resistance or changing to a different program is very straightforward. You start by picking the manual mode or your program mode, press start, and then adjust the resistance further if desired. The display will show the little hills and valleys that are typical for preset interval modes on an exercise machine (see picture of display). The seat is very comfortable and the machine seems very sturdy and well built other than that one piece that sheared. I specifically got this into so that I could stand it up against a wall without having to fold it up, and that’s great, but it does look a little awkward and very tall standing up. This unit is not one of the ones that folds but it has small rubber feet on the flywheel so that it can stand vertically.
Use/Function:
Now for the “bad” (but hopefully fixable!)…. I have used a lot of rowing machines ranging in quality and type before so I know this isn’t normal. This one makes a very prominent clicking/ratcheting noise whenever the belt is pulled or retracted. The noise is to the point that I’m nervous to do a full workout on it because I don’t want something snapping. I’m not sure if it just has to be “broken in” to spread the lubricant through it’s gears, or if there is a mechanical problem. With reviews on this rowing machine and similar ones citing the metal spring that provides some of the mechanical resistance snapping after hearing a weird noise, I decided to play it safe. This was an issue straight out of the box, so I contacted technical support about it. I will update this review once I hear back.
Overall, I think this could easily be a 4-5 star machine, I just need to be able to use it before I can fully review function.

The rower is wonderful, it’s sturdy and glides great. Display pad is easy to program. The customer service for this product, sucks badly. My monitor went out so I called support line for Setenelife. They sent a letter to me offering me a life time guarantee and a $100.00 rebate. Did not get the $100.00 rebate. I made several attempts to try to get replacement parts. The last few attempts I made, I stayed on hold for about 30 min and when I got to be the next caller the line would go dead or you got a message they were not open. The one person I talked with said my work order number had been closed. And that they wanted me to rate their service. I finally called Amazon to let them know the problem I had with the company. Amazon stepped in to help resolve the problem. If Amazon didn’t help I would have been stuck with a rower that was useless. Hats off to Amazon, they solved the problem the same day I called them
