The mechanism provides very little vertical travel, as the shaft of the adjustor is too short for more than minimum travel, about half a standard stair step. As the hydraulic warms up, which does not take long, the required effort is reduced, and any stretch in the cable will only decrease the step height. There is plenty of length on the shaft that attached to the roller, but insufficient on the adjustor. I have it screwed in to the stop.

This stepper is great! I have it setup in front of the tv. I get on while watching a show and start. After some time I don’t realize how long I’ve gone until my legs are screaming at me! Super easy setup.
Downside is the resistance bands. I can’t use them as intended for bicep curls. They’re too long. I haven’t figured out a way to shorten them, if there is a way but don’t let this stop you. Get the stepper! Totally worth the purchase!!!

Had in my shopping cart a few weeks; was doubtful I would get satisfaction from this, but boy was I wrong. I did 15 minutes on a high tension and felt the burn in my legs, thighs, felt my heart rate rise, and broke out in a sweat. Got a good aerobic workout as well. Instructions how to operate and set up were clear, I set up in under 10 minutes. Very happy with purchase. Now I can exercise each evening while watching television.

Right out the box the only assembly was to screw in the knob that adjusta the resistance level. Attach the resistance bands, step on and go. Comes with oil/lubricant in case some parts start to make a little noise. Nice spacious area for the feet especially if you much like me wear a size 10 in shoes. Overall I like it and can’t wait to start seeing some results.
