I’ve had unspectacular experiences with home fitness equipment in the past — you get what you pay for — so I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Stamina Deluxe Conversion II Recumbent/Rower. It is a very well constructed machine, and the ergonomics and overall experience are excellent. Though it’s not an inconsequential financial investment, I feel that it is a good value for the money, and it compares favorably to more expensive professional gym equipment.
Having two machines in one — a recumbent bike and a rower — is a big reason why this machine is such a good value. Both of these functions are executed very well. The motions are smooth for each exercise, and the range of resistance options is perfect, from very easy to challenging (8 levels in all). The digital display is basic but useful, showing you elapsed time, distance, calories, and heart rate. The display is large and easy to read.
The unit also allows you to perform basic resistance exercises for arms and legs, such as biceps curls and leg extensions. While these exercises may not be challenging for some even at maximum resistance, this may be a value-added option for many users, especially those just getting started in fitness.
Assembly should be relatively easy for those who have assembled fitness equipment or furniture in the past. I’d say it took about 90 minutes between unpacking, assembly, and clean up. None of the assembly steps were particularly complicated. All of the tools that you need are included, though you may find it easier to use your own tools. As with any assembly like this, be sure to keep all of your loose parts like nuts and bolts in one place. Note that some of the nuts and bolts are implied by the instruction manual to be contained in the loose parts kit, but they are actually already fastened onto certain parts of the machine.
The only problem that I had was that the first unit that was sent to me was damaged in shipping. It was a bit annoying to have to repack it and stay home from work again to receive a replacement unit. But on the bright side, I didn’t have to deal with lugging it back to a store and driving home a new unit. The unit could have perhaps been packed with more protective styrofoam, but maybe it was an issue with the way that it was handled in shipping. There was also a loose nut or bolt floating around the box in both of the units that I received, so look out for that, as you’ll likely need it.
The initial hiccup aside, my wife and I are very happy with the unit, and we strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile, effective home fitness option. Feel free to reply with any questions, and I’ll do my best to answer.

Ok, Just received this last nigh so I’ll give my initial thoughts. the shipper damaged the corner of the box. the product is well packaged in Styrofoam so there was no damage. don’t open the hardware bag and start counting bolts. you won’t find them all. the are pre-installed in some of the parts. the assembly instructions were very clear and step by step. parts are all there and easy to assemble with the tools provided. I did use my socket set for a few bolts so I cheated:) Now I believe I could have been a lower price but I’m a cheapskate. the construction is good and sturdy. I’m 205 and its fine. when you are using the bike feature it is extremely quiet, you will hear a little creaking depending on speed from the seat, not loud at all but it isn’t a solid fixed seat it is a rowing machine too so it has movement. the rowing function is very smooth and feels great. unless you want to lay way back, “which I do not” the back rest is not an issue and is very comfortable. In the rowing motion you lean forward and go back to the back rest as you row and it feels very natural and very comfortable. I used it barefoot so I’m sure with shoes the foot pedals would be great. the bike peddles seem very good and feel great barefoot. the rowing foot pedals are not bad but you feel the heel cup on your heel and the strap is a little high for my size 9.5 foot. I’m sure with shoes it would be great and gives room for bigger feet without getting into the arch. now beyond the recumbent bike and rowing feature the other reason I chose this model you also have foot spots at the base to stand on to hold the unit down while you use the rowing strap/handle to do curls and other arm exercises so really it is much more than just a bike/rowing machine but a more complete workout machine. watch the on line videos. the girl demonstrating it is nice to look at but gives a good depiction of how to use the rowing strap for arm exercises.my wife briefly used it but likes it. we got it to get fit at home without the BS of the meat market gyms and waiting to use equipment someone else just sweated all over. we can get fit in our own home and improve our stamina and heart health in privacy.

Great product. Love it. 2 in 1 . Sturdy and works great. Also easy to switch from bike to rower without even getting off it.
