New Exercise Bikes
David Lowe –
Assembling this YOSUDA PRO Recumbent Exercise Bike took me about 2.5 hours and was pretty simple, although a little tedious (there are lots of bolts and washers). I would plan on allowing yourself a full evening or afternoon to put it together because you’ll probably want to take some breaks during those 2 to 3 hours of assembly time. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and everything you need to assemble the bike (screwdriver, wrench, plus batteries for the monitor) is included.
The only area I had any difficulty with was understanding how the resistance cable should attach. The instructions were not clear on that and the first time I assembled the bike the resistance wouldn’t work, so I had to take that section of the bike back apart and figure it out. I took pictures of how the resistance cable should be assembled (it’s hard to describe, but if you reference my pics when you get to this point when assembling the bike, it should make sense). Basically, the cable needs hook inside the bottom metal loop and then slide into a second metal piece.
The bike feels durable, stable and well made and has wheels on the front and a handle in the back so that you can easily move the bike around. The magnetic resistance is controlled by turning a dial and has easily visible numbers on it that correspond with the resistance level. The resistance goes from very light to quite hard, with lots of levels in between. IMO, the bike is equally appropriate for someone just beginning to someone who’s pretty strong/fit.
The seat slides forward and back. The description says this bike will work for anyone 4′-9″ to 6′-5″. I am 5′-3″ and the bike works for me (I have short legs), but I am not sure it would work someone much shorter than I am, unless you have long legs.
I’m happy with the bike and expect to get a lot of years of use out of it.

You’ll need scissors, a knife or a box cutter to assemble this exercise bike. Otherwise, absolutely everything is included including the needed wrenches, screwdriver and batteries for the monitor. You’ll need 2-3 hours to assemble it. The directions are for the most part very clear and you can access a video on YouTube that takes you through each of the 10 assembly steps. For each step, there’s a list of everything you need from the largest part down to the smallest bit of hardware. All of the hardware comes well labeled in sealed plastic. Only take out what you need for each step so as to not mix up similar looking pieces. And be advised that you will use everything provided. There is no extra/spare hardware provided.
It’s a very solid bike. I like the use of magnetic resistance which is controlled by the turn of a wheel. It’s fairly comfortable to site it. The seat height is not adjustable but the distance between the seat and pedals is. The monitor provides you several readouts such as speed and distance. You can also link the monitor to two apps that will track your exercise and provide scenic training rides. I was able to successfully make the wireless connection to my phone but haven’t spent much time on the apps to this point. Along with the bike are two resistance bands which you can use to exercise your arms while you pedal.
This bike is well priced for something that should last a long time.

This bike is well made and works for me perfectly, however – no floor levelers! I took a star off because I need to slide folded up piece of paper under one side of the floor stabilizers to keep it from rocking back and forth on the floor. Sorry but not all of us have perfectly level and flat floors!

I have never owned a recumbent bike but this bike is a fun exercise bike. It is easy to use and comfortable. I don’t care for the pedal stirrups as they are too small for my feet with my shoes on.. I usually ride in my stocking feet because of this (until my puppy “fixed” this by chewing the stirrups off!!) The tension range is just about right. I set it about midway and it is strong enough to feel but not too strong to wear me out.
Assembly wasn’t too bad. It took right at an hour to assemble it. The instructions were fairly decent, though they were small and hard to see some of the details. The pieces went together easily.
It comes with 2 exercise programs that you can download onto your phone and use for more variety and make it more interesting while you’re riding. There is also a nice phone/tablet holder on the bike. I wish the holder were a bit larger so it could hold a book as well. Zwift is a program for the iPhone and I like its ease of use and many features. The videos in this app are the animated style, not real life. The Kinomap app is also nice and is for iPhone as well as android phones. It is also easy to use and has real time videos of different areas of the world. The Kinomap videos are nice but my internet is old and sometimes lags badly on these videos. Both apps have lots of videos and features that are free as well as a subscription fee for more features and videos.
Both apps have a feature to change the tension for uphill rides but I don’t think that feature works as the tension is manually adjusted on this bike. When you are using the apps, the bike’s screen goes blank. The apps do have the information that is usually provided on the screen, but it’s very small and harder to read. The pulse feature seems to be pretty accurate as compared to my Apple Watch when I am riding.

The only issue is pulse doesn’t work which i think is important to know what your heart rate is when working out. Need tech support but only way to reach seller is by email. Hopefully they will contact me or I will have to return it.

There isn’t a whole lote to this bike so assembly was pretty easy. Nothing too complicated. Recumbent bikes are a great place to start, warm up, or just good to get a sweat going. Low/no impact with minimal learning curve. The weight limit on this is what I thought was the real value, especially given how light it is. You dont often see equipment that can handle 300+ lbs for a price this low. Anyway I’ve been very pleased. Great product.
